What stupid things do you do that no one else knows about?

I used to be a party animal. LOVED clubbing every weekend (multiple times a week as a student), would dance for hours and laugh and laugh and laugh.

Tonight I am sitting in my cuddle chair putting chewits down my bra to warm them up before I eat them.
I’m home alone.

How life has changed.

Make me feel better, what weird stuff do you do that no one else knows about?!

@Backtomyoldname

I tell the cat to behave when she goes out and not to pick fights with Teddy next door but one.

She usually ignores me.

We do the same as ours regularly fights with another cat
Spidersinmyhair · 25/09/2021 23:36

I pretend that my bicycle is a horse. Right now he's tucked up in his stable (the shed) eating hay.

crj123 · 25/09/2021 23:36

@IceLace100

I thank inanimate objects.

"Thank you washing machine" as I'm taking my washing out.

"Thank you Barry" (the cars name is Barry obv)

"Thank you hair tie, you held up my hair all day. Well done.

Oh I do this. Also I thank my feet some nights: -"thank you for the run" , thank you for holding my fat arse up all day I know it's not easy".
Keladrythesaviour · 25/09/2021 23:40

I climb up the stairs on my hands and knees. Absolutely no idea why I do it.

MoltenLasagne · 25/09/2021 23:44

When I listen to music whilst walking down the street I like to imagine I'm in a music video like The Verve... although I haven't yet walked over any cars.

If I get up for the loo in the night I absolutely cannot look in the mirror when I wash my hands because I'm convinced there's going to be someone standing behind me. But for some reason if I don't look they won't be there.

ChickenTimeBomb · 25/09/2021 23:46

When it is just me and the cats in the house I sing 'Ain't nobody here but us chickens' and when I go out I shout 'I'll see you chickens later!' I have no explanation for this!

lilacdinosaur · 25/09/2021 23:56

I have to lick all of the flavouring off each crisp before eating them I've no idea why I've just always done it, the only ones I don't are wotsits and quavers.

SirLottie · 25/09/2021 23:57

I put chocolate coins in my bra, then lick out the melty middles. I’m delighted to hear that other people warm sweets in their bras!

Solongtoshort · 26/09/2021 00:01

Each night at bed time instead of reading my daughter a story her two most cared for toys talk to me and tell me jokes l have to tell her or a story about their day without her, she was at a sleep over the other week at my mums first in since 2019 and on FaceTime l had to put my ear to the screen and my mum and dad thought l was mad. It’s hard coming up with jokes related to what’s happened that day.

Oh I love this thread. I am not bonkers after all! And I also love fray bentos pies…

SecretKeeper1 · 26/09/2021 00:04

@Neron

If there's 2 items left on a shelf, that I only need to purchase 1 of - I have to take them both. Can't leave 1, it will get lonely...
I do this too. My husband doesn’t understand. If I leave him, will you marry me?
fallhappy1 · 26/09/2021 00:09

Not sure how weird this is but I NEED asmr to fall asleep. I listen to people brushing each others hair or stroking a microphone with a make up brush to fall asleep.

Fray Bentos pies are basically cat food with pastry in a tin.. and I love them too.
Pumpkinstace · 26/09/2021 00:11

Your aren't alone putting food down the bra to warm it.

I do it with oreos.Blush

TheWeeDonkeyFella · 26/09/2021 00:13

Having just been to the garden to bring the cat in I'm reminded of another strange thing I do - when I see the moon I greet her like a friend I've not seen for ages.

'hi moon, you look lovely and bright tonight...'

FancySomeChips · 26/09/2021 00:16

Just took off my bra to discover a ‘lost’ chewit…. Amazing! It was so melty but not sticky and such to the wrapper.
That has never happened before.

My sat nav is called Dave. When he has a glitch, we all call Dave a prick.

That is almost like when you put on a coat you have not worn in ages, and find a fiver in the pocket. Enjoy your Chewit Grin
TheRealMrsGrissom · 26/09/2021 00:25

Before recycling was a thing I always used to leave 2 beans in the tin before throwing it away - in my mind I’d given them a lucky escape but at least would have each other for company

MrsLCSofLichfield · 26/09/2021 00:40

@SapphireSeptember - I'm glad it's not just me! I tend to use 'beautiful' for crows and 'gorgeous' for magpies Grin

My MIL used to say "Good morning/afternoon/evening Mr Magpie, how is your wife today?" DH says it's a superstitious thing, warding off bad luck. I got the whole greeting corvids thing from her and have now been doing it for a quarter of a century!

StillMedusa · 26/09/2021 00:46

I like to lift my feet and scoot along with a shopping trolley at the supermarket ... I'm 53 Grin

Obviously I have full conversations with my dog (who is Maria Carey in a hairy coat.. total diva and I have to rebutt her constant unreasonable demands) and FatBastard ..the stray cat who has moved in and constantly wants to complain to the manager...

And I cannot sleep without my hot water bottle. No matter what the temperature, I have to have it. It has been to Florida. Hawaii, Las Vegas, Malta.... aircon on, but my boiling hot waterbottle snuggled next to me!

Snugglybuggly · 26/09/2021 00:47

@pigsDOfly

I have silly conversations with my dog.

Obviously, she can't actually answer me so I speak for both of us.

Sometimes I catch myself doing it when we're out on a walk; thankfully, no one's ever been near enough to overhear me - I live in a relatively quiet place - but it can only be a matter of time before I turn round and there's someone behind me.

Same! I have a special doggy voice for the answers

This is not stupid! It’s perfectly normal. I’d be very wary of someone who didn’t have conversations with their four-legged friends.
Furries · 26/09/2021 00:53

I like to pretend I’m a lion tamer! I’ll indicate to my cat to jump up on to a surface and then direct his vision and/or paw with the stick part of a feather wand. I’ll then praise him massively, give him a treat and take a bow 😂🦁

Cupcakeschocolate · 26/09/2021 00:55

I have a not so bad singing voice. But I grew up bring told by my mother that I sound like a strangled cat. If I didn't take my sister to singing lessons, and the teacher let me have a go I would have believed her. I have this thing where I can copy most singers whilst listening to them. Can't without them in the back ground though. It's quite bizarre. So if I have ear phones on I sing along and my kids and their friends have commented how I sound like them. But without them in the back ground I can't do it. Won't do it in front of dh though. He's very judgemental. So I claim up. I shouldn't but I do. I keep it for myself and the kids occasionally. Also to embarass them in front of friends.

I also can't help but slightly mimic other people's style of talking and the way they talk. As in speed, tone. And the language they use
Not as in French etc but their style of speech. I can't stop it. It's not noticeable. Bit explains why I get on well with people as I think they feel connected..

That or I'm just Batshit!
