A Vodafone door to door salesman was doing the rounds on our road earlier with the latest offers that aren't available online apparently... anyway he left his business card and when I saw his name I had to LOL as it was Robin Crowe! His family must love bird names Grin

I went to school with a boy whose surname was Russell.

He joked if he had a son, he'd call him Jack.

@ChateauxNeufDePoop

Also not necessarily funny names but worked at a place where the emails presented as "surname, forename"

Having colleagues with the surnames Farmer, Long, Paynter, Brown gave rise to some good jokes when emails came through.

At uni, when we studied an eighteenth century literary circle, there was a whole lecture on the correspondence and friendship of Wollstonecraft and Fanny Blood. We were thoroughly immature and giggled at Fanny Blood the whole way through.

Bertiebottsbum · 24/09/2021 08:37

Two of my favourites - I worked with both of them
Love Smothers
and
Sandy Colon

My surgeon last year was called Dr De’Ath. He introduced himself afterwards! And it was the 1st April so I didn’t believe it at first!!

myBumJuiceSmellsLikeRoses · 24/09/2021 09:08

There is a racing driver called Jack Goff.

Sounds well enough when you say it normally - but when racing is tense and the commentator is talking quickly..... Blush
Especially when they say something like "Jack Goff is coming up from behind". Snigger.

MibsXX · 24/09/2021 09:22

As a child my family doctor was called William Shakespeare

Benmac · 24/09/2021 09:39

Very popular in West Lothian.

My gynaecologist many years ago was Dr Hans.

havesomepatience · 24/09/2021 10:56

My sisters neighbour had a girl named Heidi Light. I also know a man named Justin Thyme.

We had a Michael Jackson too. Only young so his parents definitely knew what they were doing.

Also a Daniel Craig and a Will Smith.

@MartyHart

Dr Gentle, he was a lovely old GP when I was a kid. He really lived up to his name.
I hope my old GP, Dr Rash didn't! Grin

I remember at primary school in the 90s, our class teacher introduced us to the Kipper books saying that they were written by Nick Inkpen. Cue: a class of six and seven year olds in hysterics at the name: whilst the teacher had her firm "I'll wait until you are quite finished" expression on.

It's true. Look up the Kipper books.

AutistGoth · 24/09/2021 13:26

Sorry, got it wrong. He's Mick Inkpen, not Nick.

IncorrigibleTitmouse · 24/09/2021 14:30

@CovidIsADick

I shit you not, I recently came across someone on FB called Karen Wank. WANK!
A person at my work (in the US) has the surname Wanker. No one else but me finds it hard to keep a straight face, they just say it like it's nothing... Grin
cricketmum84 · 24/09/2021 15:06

I used to work with a person with the surname Chagger. Pronounced Shagger.

People would call and ask to speak to Dave Shay-ger. would be like "no it really is pronounced Shagger"

1dayatatime · 24/09/2021 16:08

I went to a school with someone called Helen Back.

It actually took a while for the evil boys to notice it / figure it out.

cricketmum84 · 24/09/2021 16:10

Oh I also know an old school friend who if you said her name fast is sounds like "do you want to rape her" not putting actual name on here.

All the way through high school the boys would shout no thanks at registration.

VienneseWhirligig · 24/09/2021 16:20

I was once interviewed by someone called Heidi Cokayne.

CrumpetStrumpet · 24/09/2021 16:37

I worked with a woman called Joy Joy.

Medical files I saw in same job included a Gordon Bennett, Ronald Mcdonald and a William Williamson.
