Just that really. Currently listening to LBC radio.
And they should be held to account for the death of the woman last week who couldn’t reach an hospital for 6 hours, following what would normally have been a much shorter journey. An oncologist also couldn’t get to work, where she was surely urgently needed.
I understand they have a message, but what if they do more help than good?
What do you think?

What's your point? There are lots of things happening in farming at the moment. Do you doubt farmers are looking into more ecological practice? Or do you just expect me to have all the answers.
Why should I explain new farming methods being trialed when you can't even be bothered to form an argument with practical suggestions and solutions.
Farming out your research to others is very much in the spirit of you nutcases though.

Lois yes, these people think they are some kind of higher being whose know more than everyone else and like all extremists think they are right.

I am a farmer. Your links are a bit odd. I know farmers are doing a lot in this country to improve ecological practice. We're at cross purposes here.
BelleOfTheProvince · 24/09/2021 13:27

Feel free to provide better links. I am making no claims that I know the exacts of how farming is evolving. I just know it is. I'm sure you are in a much better position to tell us how practice is changing. I can only tell you what my farmer neighbors have implemented. (They've done a version of the things in the links, hence how I know about it).

BabyYouKnowMyHandsAreDirty · 24/09/2021 13:37

If clean air is so essential why are your lot causing cars to idle on the M25?

I didn't realise that lying on the M25 caused clean air. I must redo my science GCSE.

We’ve been caught up in the the traffic queues. To be fair we, and everyone around us, turned their engines off.

BelleOfTheProvince · 24/09/2021 13:41

That just makes you more consciousness than the protesters. Which I'm not surprised at at all.

BelleOfTheProvince · 24/09/2021 13:42

Conscientious not consciousness

@Lostmarbles2021

Where is your 1% figure from?

My point is there is still a huge amount we could do. And we aren’t. And we won’t until it is enshrined in policy and legislation. The government haven’t done that. They haven’t listened for years. My point is. Direct action and civil disobedience is the only option left. Which is why I support it.

No, attacking the poor and vulnerable (stopping people getting to work or hospital, and blocking food imports) isn't the only option left.

Heaven forbid the Insulate and XR mob actually take constructive action. Starting with their own uninsulated homes (they don't all have it themselves, as admitted by one of them in an interview).

Once they've practiced what they preach and insulated their own homes, they can next DIY or crowdfund tradespeople to do other people's.

Talking of practice what they preach. I hope none of them drive or ever use polluting flights.

Their mob action is costing the taxpayer money - in policing and clean-up and traffic diversion. Money that would be better spent on people who are struggling to survive. Instead of wasting it on this mob, it could be used to help fund keeping the £20 UC uplift.

The only rational explanation is they are in government pay to destabilise the environmental movement

You've rumbled us all, Belle! Well done!

SpittinKitten · 24/09/2021 21:04

I'd bet on there being at least one undercover policeman in the group, so youre probably not so far off, Belle

SpittinKitten · 24/09/2021 21:07

*police officer, rather than policeman. Friday brain 🤦‍♀️

ArcheryAnnie · 24/09/2021 21:21

SpittinKitten you have a point there - police have tried to infiltrate environmental groups for years.

But either these protestors are wasting police time, or they are police - which is it? Would be a bit circular if it was both.

DdraigGoch · 08/10/2021 05:58

So this moron cares so much about the environment that he flew to Canada and back (at least 2.5 tonnes of CO2, probably more like 3) before driving a diesel van to Poland and back (circa 1 tonne).
