Period and….balloon bursting? TMI warning

I know IABU by using AIBU for this but need help as feel pretty traumatised Sad

TMI warning here

Had a really bad day 2 period today. Woke up and emptied mooncup, seemed pretty normal. Popped it back in and then I started feeling what I can only imagine are contractions (although as name suggests never actually been preggos before so what do I know!) crippling pain that at one point I was on the floor doubled over almost crying. Iboprofun didn’t even slightly ease it.

Went to bathroom, mooncup was empty and it felt like my body was pushing it out and it was too painful to put back in so I used a pad instead. Whole day of extreme pain passed with no blood. Started to wonder if I was going to be in a headline saying “I didn’t know I was pregnancy until I gave birth on the toilet” Hmm or maybe if it was something else and I should see a doctor.

Come dinner time, I felt what can only be described as a balloon pop inside me and a hot gush from my vag all the way down my legs. Run to bathroom, blood EVERYWHERE Envy had to get in the shower and wash all my clothes.

Again, I am so sorry for this level of info but I feel a bit traumatised and confused about what happened. Has this happened to anyone before? Should I see a doc to make sure I still have both my ovaries? Blush

Thanks everyone - as an update I have a telephone appointment with the doctor on Wednesday. This was the soonest I could get. As the bleeding is now at a normal period level, I’m not too concerned but I will keep an eye on it and I’ll also get a pregnancy test today.

Definitely sounds like a cyst to me. Just wanted to add Flowers hope the GP can help on Wednesday.

Another update - took a pregnancy test which was negative as expected but still a relief. Can only assume it was either a ruptured cyst or a blood clot. Will see what doc says
