To ask what vaccine side effects you had?

Not intended to be a debate on whether or not to get the vaccine, just purely interested in people's side effects and which particular vaccine they had? I'm finally taking the plunge today after much deliberation and being really unsure due to breastfeeding a baby and severe anxiety. But I'm very worried about how I'm going to feel afterwards and whether I'll feel well enough to care for my baby. Any experiences?

Pfizer. 1st dose, started to feel awful the day after. Spent about a day and a half in bed. Then felt rough for the next few days. Also had tummy issues. My 14 year old son had exactly the same. My two teen girls were fine.

2nd dose, not sausage. Same with my son. One daughter had a very short lived mild fever.

Had I a baby to look after it wouldn’t have been pleasant, but I’d have struggled through. I had the full on flu with newborn twins and THAT was hideous, but I managed.

AZ felt a bit hot and weird for a couple of days but nothing bad. 2nd jab - arm hurt a bit.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 11/09/2021 16:17

AZ

1st jab: sore arm for a week, headache from hell / hot and cold, gone by next day
2nd jab: Arm okay, but rest exactly as first time

Meggie2008 · 11/09/2021 16:28

I had Pfizer, first one I was very tired the day after but fine other than that.
2nd one was weird as I went to bed feeling fine but woke up about 1am freezing, had the shakes, vomited etc.
Had to take the day off work but felt better by around lunch time after getting some sleep. Totally fine by the end of the day

KingHiss · 11/09/2021 16:32

AZ x 2 no side effects at all.

WTF0ver · 11/09/2021 16:40

AZ1 - slight flu coming on feeling, aching heavy limbs 8 hours after, felt slightly hot at night in bed. Following morning slight hangover "spaced out" feeling. OK later in afternoon.

AZ2 - sore arm for 2 days after.

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 11/09/2021 16:51

Pfizer. Slightly sore arm for a few days after the first jab. Nothing after the second.

katrina11 · 11/09/2021 16:58

AZ - felt nauseous for about 24 hours after 1st dose
2nd dose also had nausea but it went after a couple of hours

generalh · 11/09/2021 17:02

None what so ever.

Hoowhoowho · 11/09/2021 17:08

AZ dose one, flu like illness for 48 hours, fever for five days, abscess in arm which needed antibiotics.

AZ dose two- fever and flu like illness for about 12 hours.

No regrets.

ShingleBeach · 11/09/2021 17:10

Ox AZ.
No after effects at all, either jab.

SpeedRunParent · 11/09/2021 20:54

AZ - had to take paracetamol for a feverish feeling first time, nothing second.

CatalinaCasesolver · 11/09/2021 20:56

Pfizer - just a sore arm after both

KarenofSparta · 11/09/2021 21:00

AZ- sleepiness for about a day and a half both times, that's it.

Greenandcabbagelooking · 11/09/2021 21:09

Sore arm both times, period late, heavy and painful the first time. I'm still waiting for my period after my second dose.

LoveFall · 11/09/2021 21:42

Pfizer. Quite sore arm the first time. Slight sore arm the second.

squirrelnutkins1 · 11/09/2021 21:44

Pfizer. BF too. First jab achy arm for 72 hours and extreme fatigue.
Second jab nothing.

Aprilx · 11/09/2021 21:45

AZ.

Had first jab at 3pm. I was fine that evening but the following day had a dull headache that lasted all day and I became unusually tired as the day went on. Had an early night and woke up the next day feeling brilliant.

Nothing at all after the second jab.

pointythings · 11/09/2021 21:47

I had AZ - first one gave me fever and chills overnight, plus killer headache the next day. But I was able to work with painkillers.
Second - slight soreness in the arm.

DDs both had Moderna - slightly sore arm with the first. DD2 had the second one two days ago and is feeling pretty grotty, but she has fibromyalgia so anything hits her harder. Still just flu/cold symptoms which someone without fibro could manage.

Sunshinealligator · 11/09/2021 21:48

I had pfizer, felt a bit tired and warm toward the end of the day. Not ill, just not right for me.
My arm hurt toward the afternoon for a couple of days, but no obvious swelling.

On day 6 I did get what appeared to be a swollen lymph node in the armpit of the arm I had the injection in. It did not go. I required a urgent referral to the breast clinic, they said they've seen it several times in women with the covid vaccine.

I also had some irregular, light bleeding after the first jab. It hasn't affected my fertility though.

I had not one symptom after the first jab.

Not too bad really!

Peacocking · 11/09/2021 21:49

Pfizer. I was in the first batch done.
First one, sore arm but otherwise fine.

Second, warned as I was having it about side effects. Laughed at the idea. Had a blinding headache within 10 minutes and pretty unwell for about a week but had eyesight problems and headaches for a good two or three months.

I'm in the group that needs an immediate third shot, not looking forward to it.

Minimamame · 11/09/2021 21:50

Fatigue the day after I got the 2nd vaccine but that was it for me.

mydogisthebest · 11/09/2021 21:52

AZ no side effects whatsoever. The first one I didn't even feel the needle go in and was amazed when told it had been done The second I felt it but nothing bad and no sore arm.

The flu jab every year leaves me with a sore arm for at least a week and I can't sleep on that side for that time.

DH also had AZ and no effects whatsoever

SunSparkle · 11/09/2021 21:53

AZ jab. First one - headache and fever just over night and then gone. Second jab - mild headache and fatigue for 3 days (though the fatigue might have been from having a 4 month old baby going through the sleep regression at the same time). I’m breastfeeding and had zero hesitation in having the jab.

Cryalot2 · 11/09/2021 21:54

Had AZ
1st dead arm ( I always get that with every vaccine including flu) The most dreadful headache/migraine and flu like next day. I was so bad I phoned gp who made me feel a wimp and said it was proof it was working.
2nd nothing and arm less bad.
Most of rest felt fluey for a day /headache.
Dh nothing after any .
Still vaccine was nothing compared to covid. I never want it again. We still have long covid .
