To ask what vaccine side effects you had?

Not intended to be a debate on whether or not to get the vaccine, just purely interested in people's side effects and which particular vaccine they had? I'm finally taking the plunge today after much deliberation and being really unsure due to breastfeeding a baby and severe anxiety. But I'm very worried about how I'm going to feel afterwards and whether I'll feel well enough to care for my baby. Any experiences?

Same

BippityBoppity87 · 11/09/2021 14:03

I had the AZ. A bit of a sore arm for about a week with both. That was it really. Little tired, but I'm always tired, so that could have just been a me thing

TinaYouFatLard · 11/09/2021 14:08

AZ (which thankfully you won’t have), ended up with severe internal bleeding requiring four days in hospital and three blood transfusions.

Lou1984 · 11/09/2021 14:08

I felt rough after my second Pfizer one - achey and hot with a sore head. I’m breastfeeding a 3mo and have a toddler too and was worried if struggle to look after thru if feeling really ill but it was manageable despite the above side effects, hopefully you’ll be fine too

DontBeAHaterDear · 11/09/2021 14:09

AZ
1st one: sore arm, cold like symptoms in the evening. Took a couple of paracetamol went to bed early, woke up totally fine without a hint of a cold.
2nd one: nothing, not even a sore arm where the needle went in.

My partner has a lifelong degenerative medical condition and was warned he would probably have bad side effects both times because of this both times he was fine and had less issues than me, who doesn’t have a medical condition like his.

Lou1984 · 11/09/2021 14:09

*them not thru!!

BronwenFrideswide · 11/09/2021 14:12

Me: Pfizer - only effect was a slightly sore arm at the injection site, nothing else at all.

Husband: Moderna - slightly sore arm at the injection site and a mild headache after the second dose.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 11/09/2021 14:14

Felt very tired after the second one, so was very glad to finish work and go home. Back in work the next day feeling tired.

Staying at home with a baby would have been far easier. No needing to be at the bus stop by 6.20am, for a start. Whilst a theoretical baby being brought to me if I decided to go to bed would have been nice, it certainly wouldn't have been impossible to pick it up or look after it alone. After all, it's what you have to do when you're actually ill and on your own - you can't stop looking after them because you're feeling a bit rough.

PivotPivotPivottt · 11/09/2021 14:14

Pfizer. Sore arm. First vaccine arm hurt more and for about 2 days. Second one arm hurt less and only for a day but the pain started straight after the vaccine whereas the first one it didn't start hurting until a few hours after

AntiHop · 11/09/2021 14:16

I has az, dh had pfizer. Slightly sore arm.

EverybodyIsInteresting · 11/09/2021 14:17

I had pfizer

1 - slight sore arm at the site of the injection for a day or two
2 - same, plus a raised lymph node in my armpit that was irritating when I had my arm by my side. The irritation lasted about a day, the lump a bit longer.

IveGotASongThatllGetOnYNerves · 11/09/2021 14:18

I was knackered and felt like shit for a couple of weeks after my first jab. I didn't really have much of a reaction with my second.

Comedycook · 11/09/2021 14:18

Achey arm and a bit tired

seaandsandcastles · 11/09/2021 14:20

I had Pfizer (am also breastfeeding). Had no side effects apart from a sore arm.

Herecomesthesun70 · 11/09/2021 15:01

Pfizer no side effects at all on either jab

LoulaJ · 11/09/2021 15:06

Ok so I've just had it! It was Pfizer. They've told me to wait here for 15 mins before I drive home in case I have any adverse effects. Hopefully I'll be fine!

Pfizer.

First one, just a sore arm and wee but tired. Although I was really thirsty for a day or 2 after.

2nd one, sore arm, achy joints and really tired for about 48 hours. Nothing that paracetamol and bucket loads of tea couldn't help

YouMeandtheSpew · 11/09/2021 15:22

Pfizer - very sore arm (like I’d been punched) for about 24 hours. Otherwise fine.

Geamhradh · 11/09/2021 15:30

Well done! You might find you're tired more than usual- I seem to remember sleeping like a baby!
Chanel05 · 11/09/2021 15:34

Pfizer - my menstrual cycles are fucked.

OhRene · 11/09/2021 15:35

Had the Pfizer and first had zero effects. No hint that I'd had it until I forgot and accidentally poked the injection site and made it ache. Doh!
Second was a little different but I think it was more the injector than the injection. The needle hit resistance that then gave. It caused a large solid lump for over a week which made my arm achy. I was extremely fatigued for a few days after but that could have been the vaccine or things going on at the time.

All in all, it was fine.

knightsinwhitesatin · 11/09/2021 15:46

Pfizer
1st dose - absolutely nothing
2nd dose - slightly sore arm for 24 hours
My husband was the same.
He had Covid earlier in the year and was out of action for a week so I’d wager you’d be better with the vaccine than risking covid. (We are mid 30s with a small child)

ilovesooty · 11/09/2021 15:48

AZ. None whatsoever either time.

FatAnkles · 11/09/2021 15:49
