How often am I seeing this on Sm these days 🙈

‘And just like that..such and such is 7’ etc etc 🙄

Aibu in doing another massive eye roll at seeing this yet again or am I just a miserable bugger?

"Through the triumph of luck over discernment, my current partner has purchased a selection of objects I find pleasing. It fills a drafty gap in my self-esteem to exhibit these objects thusly:"

HoboSexualOnslow · 09/09/2021 20:07

It irritates me when #myworld is used about a child or significant other they've just spent half an hour slagging off

HeechulOppa · 09/09/2021 20:40

Whenever I see someone write ‘this one’ I always imagine they’re secretly a Dothraki

elp30 · 09/09/2021 21:03

A friend of mine always writes in the third person and has bad grammar as she does it:

"She happy" or "She smart" or "She getting it done"...

The woman has an advanced degree and works as an educator!

Argh!

Cuddlypinkcat · 09/09/2021 21:19

@HeechulOppa

Whenever I see someone write ‘this one’ I always imagine they’re secretly a Dothraki
I've used 'this one' in person once or twice when a name escapes me Blush
Briony123 · 09/09/2021 21:54

@ClawedButler

Oh, I'm terribly sorry.

"The child we produced is attending school in the appropriate year group for her age, as provision of education is a government requirement and the thought of homeschooling brings me out in hives. She is attired in accordance with the chosen school's stated uniform policy"

I love this.
MorriseysGladioli · 09/09/2021 21:57

Was "On fleek" a facebook saying?
I've never used fb but saw it cropping up on youtube comments.

BastardMonkfish · 09/09/2021 22:18

I can't stand 'Hive mind' as in 'ok hive mind, I need recommendations for where to eat this Friday night aaand...go!' AYE dead on pal.

SpareChangePlease · 09/09/2021 22:28

^I know someone who refers to her daughter as the "little bitch". The poor kid is about 7 now and it's been like that since the gender reveal "I'm having a little bitch".

Mum thinks she's edgy. I think she's a twat.^

Urgh, this reminds me of that blogger (or whatever she was) that loads of people went wet in the knickers for, who referred to her kids as “little shits” 🙄 She was a twat too.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 09/09/2021 23:08

@WellTidy

‘I’ll wait’ after something completely inane

So much of this on Facebook now

Oh yes - “Name an animal without an E in its name - I’ll wait!” Fuck off.
cloudacious · 10/09/2021 01:33

Someone asking a very normal question they could easily Google and then adding "And go!" As if everyone reading exists in some perpetual limbo, waiting to be galvanized into action by one individual's inability to find a plumber on their own.

PileOfBooks · 10/09/2021 08:06

Oh yes. I have a relative who adds "And Go!" Just why....?!

steelseries · 10/09/2021 08:13

I can't stand the phrase "and then there were...". Like when someone has a baby and they post "and then there were 3". As if they are living in some children's book or fairytale or something

Rainallnight · 10/09/2021 08:18

Aw, I do love that one and I’ve used it Blush

HavanaGoodTime · 10/09/2021 08:45

my folks have a joint FB and a joint email. I'm sad for them that people might think thats a sign of cheating/abuse as for them its a sign that they have no secrets and no need to have secrets. (they are very old school despite only being early 60s!!)

Readerimarried · 10/09/2021 09:02

Some of them were quite amusing when used once, I think.Used too often and they are very annoying.
Can't really get round that on social media so I don't bother.
I have the same view of the nonsensical business phrases.
I think even as a child I went out out of my way to not use words or phrases that were currently in fashion.
My mother started saying yonks when she was in her 40s, and is still doing so now she's 80.
It irritates me immensely.

BoredZelda · 10/09/2021 09:48

Just go the extra letter and type mum / dad / son

But an extra 6 for daughter.

@herecomesthsun

Our 12 year old loves the bill bailey one, but I had to stop her playing it for my dad who turned 78 last week 😆 We showed him this instead.

FluffyWhiteBird · 10/09/2021 15:04

@Georgyporky

My bad ... What? toe? brother? Someone please tell me what it is supposed to mean.
It means "sorry, my mistake".
HeechulOppa · 10/09/2021 16:47

@Cuddlypinkcat Then clearly you’re a Dothraki

Trumanshow · 10/09/2021 17:27

I hate “this human …..” it makes me seethe! (Ie .. this human is off to school… this huma is now 8 etc)

1974devon · 10/09/2021 17:29

I'm prob being unreasonable but this week it's been...'so and so smashed going back to school'..or 'so and so go smash it'
What's the smashing about 🙈

liveforsummer · 10/09/2021 17:33

Not read the whole thread but mine is similar to the one at the end so guessing I'm not alone in my hate for smashing things. 'Go smash it baby' about a school year. Please don't smash anything. 😆

cherish123 · 10/09/2021 17:40

It's nauseating.

Or 7 ALREADY

cherish123 · 10/09/2021 17:42

Another word that annoys me is "though" used incorrectly. Nice though

toocold54 · 10/09/2021 17:46

Honestly I think if you get annoyed with what words/phrases multiple people use on SM it’s because you’re on it too much.
Take a break or limit your usage and then you don’t see as many posts.
