...and say they remember various posts? It really pisses on my chips! So what?!?!

OP posts:
Yesitsbess · 03/09/2021 20:28

I remember bobble plate! Oh lordy!

AuntLucy · 03/09/2021 20:28

I got here just after the split with the Moldies (sp?)!. Does that make me the oldest? 😁

Haudyourwheesht · 03/09/2021 20:32

I remember the pombear one as it was happening. That was really funny, although I didn't quite believe it.
Cutted up pear was funny because toddlers are truly mental. Grin
Sistine chapel and snapped and farted were just nonsense.
I quite often don't click on threads that are 600 posts + as they just get so repetitive.

Lycanthropology · 03/09/2021 20:39

@MintyGreenDream

Poo knife
Ah, I thought I was the only one who remembered the poo knife thread/s (there were two at the same time!) About rubber spatula type things for cleaning the toilet (in lieu of a brush), but posters were saying how useful they were for chopping up large poo in the loo. Having never had the need to do this in my entire life, it was absolutely Shock to me!

Anyway, penguin bollards to you all!

Yesitsbess · 03/09/2021 20:44

I thought poo knife was Reddit?

MyPatronusIsACat · 03/09/2021 20:47

@WinTheNight

Remember when Anyfucker was banned and posters went mental and started threads to bring her back, active threads had about five threads dedicated her being 'unbannished'. I remember reading it on the bus in to work thinking WTF?

No idea who the poster is but why were they banned? And are they back? Did mumsnet give into the public pressure? 🤣
I only remember a few usernames and that’s usually because they’re arseholes. 😬

AF has been BANNED?

I didn't know that!

MyPatronusIsACat · 03/09/2021 20:48

What is the poo knife? (I am almost afraid to ask, but I HAVE to know.)

And what is the bobbly plate?!

Notmoresugar · 03/09/2021 20:50

YABVU
Some people take issue with everything.
I don't use the term but really can't see what your problem is.

BakedTattie · 03/09/2021 20:51

Sistine chapel screamer is the ultimate

Lycanthropology · 03/09/2021 20:53

What is a poo knife, you ask? You're welcomeWink

@AuntLucy

I got here just after the split with the Moldies (sp?)!. Does that make me the oldest? 😁
Nope
ScrambledSmegs · 03/09/2021 21:08

There are definitely some pre-moldies posters on the site.

My favourite fact about that whole debacle is after they'd set up their top secret and exclusive forum for all their chums and no one else, they invited JustineMN!

Utter pillocks.

CovidPassQuestion · 03/09/2021 21:10

Was it not "creepy humphy faces"?

Booble plate was a great thread!

ScrambledSmegs · 03/09/2021 21:12

Wee humphy faces.

Wonder if I can do an OU degree on scottishmummy Hmm

Justanotherlurker · 03/09/2021 21:39

Because at the time MN posters stamped thier feet and wanted a name change function, warnings where made that it would be useless because mn is apparently a unique place where there are a lot of users who are expert at stylometry and it would just resort into people calling out new posters.

Hence why name changers had to verify said name change by citing obvious threads which then became a meme and easily copied by the wind up merchants they wanted to keep out, whilst the wind up merchants openly abuse the name change function.

It's a built in function of design that was requested by the users, I have seen many a name change fail over the years that should result in a ban or being called out for shit stirring, even saw some awful advice from an MN account over on employment.

Protect identity is a smoke screen for some weird self importance mindset and being able to be a twat in 98% of the cases.

ShaunaTheSheep · 04/09/2021 08:43

@NinjaExodus

Has anyone mentioned the river of sweetcorn or the bobble plate yet?
Me, back up the thread. And the bat.
CoronaPeroni · 04/09/2021 08:46

The funniest thread I can remember laughing at was horses at the Olympics and I've searched classics and can't find it. Shame, I'd love to see if it was still funny.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 04/09/2021 08:55

Well, cynical old me. There I was thinking that such threads mentioning “classics” are nothing to do with proving the poster is not a troll and more to get people reading more —adverts— pages.

CurlyhairedAssassin · 04/09/2021 08:56

Fucking strike through fail yet again dammit

CovidPassQuestion · 04/09/2021 11:17

coronaperoni I think the horses and Olympics thread was in chat, so it went.

CoronaPeroni · 04/09/2021 12:01

Oh that's a shame

OMG VOM Envy

Thanks for that. Grin

So what is the bobble plate?

WomanStanleyWoman · 04/09/2021 15:28

@phishy

I thought snapped and farted was amusing at the time, but it does get tedious when it gets added to the MN cannon. I think the OP did actually fart as a bit of a protest, because she followed up with ‘I have IBS’, so maybe she could fart at a snap if she was inclined.
I found it funny at the time because it was so bizarre. Everyone assumed it was a very weird typo and there were pages of people asking; plus the OP came back again and again and didn’t explain it. She eventually said ‘I have IBS’ and just carried on with the story. The farting itself wasn’t funny; it was that the OP had thrown it in, unexplained, as if it was something everyone would just ‘get’.

It will never be a true classic for me though, as I don’t think anyone remembers what the thread was actually about!

WomanStanleyWoman · 04/09/2021 15:29

One that hasn’t been mentioned yet that always makes me laugh is ‘His little shirt’.
