In Ireland

110 euro so approx 90 sterling as I shop in Lidl and use own brand powder and deodorant and one bottle of wine a week.

2 adults 2 primary aged dc. That's all our lunches included and Sunday roast. We rarely eat out or take away

Bigoldhag · 31/08/2021 13:09

Mine is out of control - probably £80 a week for me and the dog, but this does include all cleaning and her food which is no cheap. But no alcohol.

I just shop in one place and cannot be arsed to shop around, back when my income was lower, I could probably make it work on about £40.

ballsdeep · 31/08/2021 13:11

About 100 with everything and that's for five of us.

grapewine · 31/08/2021 13:15

I budget between £20 and £30 a week for one adult. I don't eat meat often which helps.

PeonyTime · 31/08/2021 13:18

£150/week.
2 adults, 2 kids (10 and 12) and a cat.
All at tesco.
All meals eaten at home, or as a packed lunch from home.
Take away maybe once month.

wanderlove · 31/08/2021 13:19

£100 a week in the supermarket and prob £25 on bits and bobs. That includes everything laundry, nappies, wipes, toiletries for a family of 6 plus dog. Shop in Lidl . Could afford to shop somewhere more expensive but prefer to have the money in my pockets then Tesco’s! I don’t meal plan but we don’t waste much as have pretty standard ingredients and freeze a lot.

Pengweng · 31/08/2021 13:20

Between 70-80 a week. Includes basic toiletries and cleaning stuff.
Includes all meals including packed lunches for 2 adults and 2 primary aged children.

Doesn't include dry cat food as we buy that in bulk every 6 months (£40) or toilet roll which is delivered every 4 months (£40) or my toiletries as they are usually more expensive so buy separately.

MrsMonkeyBear · 31/08/2021 13:21

£50-80 depending on what we need. Generally buy frozen veg as it lasts longer, stick to supermarket own brands over named one (apart from bread, has to be Warburtons Toasty.) This also includes Dairy Free/Lactose Free versions for myself.

I get our laundry stuff from Smol. Loo roll gets delivered ever 6-9 months from Who Gives a Crap. I don't buy a whole load of cleaning stuff, a bottle of bleach and some stuff to wipe the counters is enough (damp dust, vinegar on the windows/mirrors and hot soapy water for everything else)

3littleowls · 31/08/2021 13:22

2 adults, a 6, 3 and 1 year old - around £120 a week including nappies and household cleaning and other things. We shop at Morrisons mainly. I buy a fair amount of frozen food to save money and prevent the food waste we had before when I bought mainly fresh veg and far too many bags of salad and pre-prepared food for us.

MintyGreenDream · 31/08/2021 13:23

Around £120 for a weeks shop and a takeaway.
2 adults one 7 yr old

Yellow85 · 31/08/2021 13:24

About £70 on weekly online supermarket shop and prob another £30–£40 on top up/take away/McDs.

2 adults 2 school kids

hollyivysaurus · 31/08/2021 13:25

£130 per week for 2 adults, 2 children and a cat! I’ve wanted to do a thread like this as I worried we were overspending, I think we’re fairly average reading these replies.

Rapunzel91 · 31/08/2021 13:26

£120-160 per week for 2 adults, 2 preteen boys, 1 toddler and 1 large dog. The 2 boys are not here everyday (split time at their mums). This includes all cleaning stuff, toiletries (not my makeup and skincare), some alcohol.
We spend a lot in my opinion but dont spend much money eating out (soft play cafe a couple times, occasional coffee etc) and have 1 takeaway a month. I find it really difficult to spend less though as we do go through more or less all the food in a week.

melonhead · 31/08/2021 13:27

About £200

DollyPartBaked · 31/08/2021 13:31

£150 - 2 x adults 2 x small children.

Would love to see a meal plan for £40 a week.

MareofBeasttown · 31/08/2021 13:32

We spend about £100 a week for two adults and one teen DS. Includes everything BUT we don't eat meat and we don't drink alcohol.

DuckDuckGooses · 31/08/2021 13:35

Approx £200 pw on food shopping looking at last months spending for two adults two cats then another £250 a week on eating out for two fat adults which is totally ridiculous but slightly skewed as we had a week off work and ate every meal out. Terrified of when we have kids what the total will be!

vixeyann · 31/08/2021 13:36

2 adults, one 8 year old eating me out of house and home - £70-£80 which includes household stuff and usually other misc bits like cake decorating bits for son's birthday or wrapping paper etc. Prices have definitely risen in the past 18 months. I used to get away with £60 per week.

TheVolturi · 31/08/2021 13:36

2 adults and three dc age 8, 7, 3.
£100-£130 a week.

ProcrastinationIsMySuperPower · 31/08/2021 13:36

2 adults, one teenager and one pre-teen, plus a cat - we probably spend about £130 most weeks, more when we have takeaway. I try to meal plan as much as possible to keep costs down, but success varies!

grannycake · 31/08/2021 13:37

2 adults and 1 very spoilt puppy - about £70 per week

MareofBeasttown · 31/08/2021 13:41

@DollyPartBaked

£150 - 2 x adults 2 x small children.

I think 40 a week is achievable if you don't eat meat or fish, and if you can eat ethnic cuisines, but hard otherwise.
mrsm43s · 31/08/2021 13:43

2 adults 2 teens, about £90 per week. No fussy eaters, and I meal plan - we eat well. Don't tend to buy many processed foods, junk food or pre-prepped foods.

NewFlav · 31/08/2021 13:45

2 Adults, 1 toddler.

Shopping in Asda =£140-160
Shopping in Aldi =£80-120

Made the switch to Aldi during lockdown as Asda was getting too expensive.
Aside from the odd oven pizza, all meals are cooked from scratch and some are batch cooked and frozen so last 2-3 meals.

Dogoodfeelgood · 31/08/2021 13:46

Around £80 a week groceries/household plus maybe £80 Deliveroo a week. Blush
