And it's not after a relative, she just likes it. Is this it for us over 40s? Are there going to be loads of little Lynns and Sharons running round soon?

What other names are we about to see!?

I was born in the 1940's era, and I had four aunties, named, Ivy, Rose, Poppy.and Daisy, all from keen gardener parents.. They don't seem popular now, !

Yes to 99% of 80s born women having the middle name Louise! I wonder what the modern day equivalent is? Grace?

RussianSpy101 · 29/08/2021 14:55

Rebecca and Amy never really went out.

Incywinceyspider · 29/08/2021 14:56

I know a baby Malcolm!

PollyValent · 29/08/2021 14:56

I like Malcolm and Douglas.

Or Rose

Simon is a lovely name. I know quite a few adult Simons and they are all really nice people( not that the name defines the person)

Yesitsbess · 29/08/2021 15:01

@Incywinceyspider

I know a baby Malcolm!
Such a sweet name!
Loubiemoo · 29/08/2021 15:03

@OhSmellyCatSmellyCat

I know a few Eric's, what about Kevin though, the world needs more Kevin's
Also more Garys.
BamberGascoine · 29/08/2021 15:05

@MyFloorIsLava I work in a school and the names Rebecca, Amy and Laura never went away!

There have been a couple of Joannes, Lisa is also a surprising reprisal! I often wonder if they are names people wish they’d been called. You know when you’re little everyone else’s names are better than yours?

KnitFastDieWarm · 29/08/2021 15:10

I met a tiny Gordon the other day! It rather suited him.

Standrewsschool · 29/08/2021 15:10

I’d be surprised by Sharon and Tracey, or Kevin for a boy, as these were cliche, arch-typical, 70s names, names that later got mocked.

I like Malcolm. Conjures up a reliable solid sort of bloke.
x2boys · 29/08/2021 15:15

My friend at secondary school in the 80,s had what we all thought was a very old fashioned name, she was called Grace 🤣

oakleaffy · 29/08/2021 15:16

It was always the rough teenagers when I was young called Tracey and Sharon.
Joannes and Joannas were nice gels .
Showing my age now!

Myusernameisnotmyusernameno · 29/08/2021 15:21

@PieceOfString

Michelle, urgh I hate that name, so many 70's parents chose that name and raised a horror child.
That's my middle name! Thanks Hmm
Knackeredbutnot · 29/08/2021 15:25

@Benjispruce5

Well if Ada is now popular, Joanne surely is an improvement!
Ada is a great name… I’m not ready for the Hayleys, Michelles, Sarahs and Claires of my (80s) youth to make a comeback yet (sorry to anyone who has those names)
Blossomtoes · 29/08/2021 15:27

Ada is beautiful.

LampBookPicture · 29/08/2021 15:27

I am a 1960s baby and there were three boys called Nigel in my friend group as a teenager. I snogged two of them. Can't imagine anyone wanting to snog a Nigel these days.

ChocolateCakeYum · 29/08/2021 15:29

A friend of mine has an 8 year old called Norman.

Paperyfish · 29/08/2021 15:31

@PasstheBucket89
oh dear, I'm a late 80s baby I wonder when Rebecca, Amy and Laura will be making comebacks x
I’m an early 80’s baby, I’m one of these and my 5 month old daughter is one of the others!

ReggaetonLente · 29/08/2021 15:31

I love Pauline but DH vetoed. I also liked Jacqueline!

I was born in the 90s

Schnauzersaremyheros · 29/08/2021 15:33

Ooh I hope Kirsty makes a comeback, such a pretty name. My mum wanted to call me this but my dad vetoed it, and I got stuck with a very bland and common 80's name instead.
