to go on a 3 night hen weekend in spain.

its not until june, i can't really afford it but i will pay for it by budgeting like mad over the next 6 months (its not until June)

my children will be either staying with my parents whom they see daily and stay over all the time or with my brother and his girlfriend and his two children.
(sounds a bit iresponsible not to have this all properly arranged but its really far ahead and i only agreed to go today)

either way they will be perfectly safe abnd happy.

i will be taking them camping a couple of times during the year, so they will have a holiday as well.

i have never been abroad, i never do anythign for myself and alwasy put my kids first.

am i really such a bad person for taking one weekend out just for me?

I went to Spain for a WHOLE WEEK when mine were 1yr and 3yrs old with 5 other women. None of my family batted an eyelid!

I went to Alaska (because my sister took me) for 12 days when my boys were 1 and 3. They said with my parents and had a fab time.

My best friend has asked me to go on safari with her next summer, little one will only be a year old, I'm considering it and hubby is all for it, we have to have time to ourselves me thinks! (just scared I might be mistaken for a hippo)!!!

i had pretty much decided i would go. but was feeling a bit guilty about it.

my mum doesn't think women should work if they have children either so i shouldn't have been surprised by her opinions on this.

the kids will be fine and as you say they will enjoy their time away from grumpy me anyway.

deffo go. i go to amsterdam for 3 nights every year for a work conference and to get outrageously pissed at the same time, naturally, DS stays with granny and grandad, granny is all for it. i absolutely love it, i get to live like the non-mummy for 3 days, but by the end of it, i've got it all out of my system and i'm glad to go back to blissful doesticity
