Emergency spiritual help needed!

We are moving house. This house has a 'presence'. It is not a happy presence. And we would rather not move house with it!

Have already had a priest round to bless the house which helped.

But it's still not gone. The presence not the priest. He went after a cup of tea and a biscuit.

Removal men commented they could 'feel' the presence too.

So. Any ideas?

Any leaving the house ceremony type thing from another culture we could borrow?

We are white British Christian background. So open to any ideas! Thanks

I guess it depends. If it’s residual energy it will remain with the house. If it’s connected with you guys in anyway then it might follow.
If it was me, I’d take the pagan advice; burn the sage and ask it to leave.

This is a common misconception on here. I can only speak for Catholicism, but a Catholic priest would only do a rite of exorcism after you had been subjected to extensive physical and psychological tests — the assumption would be that you had a medical or MH condition that caused you to hallucinate etc before anyone canvassed the idea there was an unpleasant supernatural entity in your house. So it virtually never happens. If a priest agrees to bless your house, it’s purely to calm you down.

The logic of this has always bemused me.

So even the Catholic church agrees that if you believe your house is occupied by some sort of presence, then it's highly likely you're suffering from some sort of delusional illness.

So you accept some level of consciousness remains after death to be “surprised”? As I want to be cremated and ashes scattered at sea I certainly would be surprised though! Mind you I don’t believe in consciousness after the second death.

I don’t believe in forgiveness unless it is of yourself as the only purpose it serves is to bolster the Ego (in the spiritual rather than common sense).

I think the church deals with a huge chunk of the population with MH issues, that, as well as the sense of community it can provide for isolated people is one of the reasons I'm glad it still exists and provides comfort to those people (as well as everyone else who wants to go to church). I also dread to think what would happen support-wise to some more vulnerable people if they didn't have a church community supporting them.

I'm cheerfully agnostic.

Intrigued by all the nasty criticism- how does this request affect these who berate so quickly and with such spite? If you’re venomous and spiteful over this post I think you may find that the real problem is yourself .

Did you not experience the "presence" when you viewed the house?

I didn't believe in ghosts etc until we lived in an old house the newer
part of which ,was so weird the dog refused to go into certain rooms and would watch something and growl , the sunny bright guest bedroom should of been best room in house ,3 different friends /family when staying asked to sleep instead in a small dark room with lumpy bed.
Eventually we found someone who said they knew a guy who would come and "clear it" .
I was sceptical etc long and short the guy came
did his stuff, apparently there was a trapped spirit who hadn't passed on
to the other side! the guy charged nothing he was a down to earth retired brick layer .
we thanked him ,off he went we went out and returned that evening
it was so odd the whole house felt different as if the ceilings where higher and lighter .the dog never growled at nothing again ,friends thought we had redecorated changed the lighting or similar.

He said anyone can make holy water by praying over it about the love of Christ.

I had no idea anyone can just whip up a batch of holy water on demand! That’s really useful to know.

So if the church only decide to help after a mental health evaluation then surely if you were suffering from any kind of depression or anxiety they would consider you to have mental health issues ? So therefore would that mean they wouldn't help ?
