I don’t have an Aldi near me, not been in one, but I’ve heard they’re pretty good? Is it worth risking my life to shop there?

Laquila · 18/08/2021 14:54

That's the silliest article I've ever read 😂

CovidCorvid · 18/08/2021 14:55

I don’t think a Mumsnetter would embarrass herself by running to the press talking about being traumatised by such an event. She needs to Get a grip.

What I don’t understand is if she’s been shopping at aldi for ten years how come she hasn’t grasped the concept of not bagging at the checkout? All she had to do was sweep it all into the trolly and pack at the shelves!

SofiaMichelle · 18/08/2021 14:56

Instead of being embarrassed at their utter lack of resilience they sound quite proud of how pathetic they're being. Confused

How bizarre.

SoreusBacchus · 18/08/2021 14:56

What a massive drama queen! Crying and shaking indeed.

AfterSchoolWorry · 18/08/2021 14:57

Pathetic.

KidneyBeans · 18/08/2021 14:57

YABU for promoting a disgusting rag like the Sun

thefirstmrsrochester · 18/08/2021 14:57

‘Traumatised’? Fuck sake, someone needs to get a grip.

CagneyNYPD · 18/08/2021 14:59

No way has she been shopping at Aldi for 10 years. If she had, she would know the packing shelf rules.

The woman took 3 young dc to Aldi. This may well be within her rights as a human being but she knew the risks. We all know the risks of taking small people to a supermarket.

I think the woman in the article is really an Ocado home delivery shopper who got caught out, nipped into Aldi and couldn't take the pressure.

sayanythingelse · 18/08/2021 15:00

This story is local to me and it didn't surprise me when I read it. You should see the community Facebook pages for the area, I've never seen so many people get their knickers in a twist about such minor issues.

CagneyNYPD · 18/08/2021 15:00

Oh and no way is she a Mumsnetter.

VladmirsPoutine · 18/08/2021 15:01

Drama queen indeed but trying to do anything with 3 young kids is going to be chaotic.

BeenHereForAges · 18/08/2021 15:01

Lol! She lost me at "bagging at the checkout"
Everyone knows you must never bag at the Aldi checkout!! You chuck it all in the trolley and try to apologise to your bruised fruit at the bagging benches like everyone else.

LakieLady · 18/08/2021 15:02

I see the don't have subeditors on The Shun these days: "diffuse the situation".

Written and read by thick twats.

WorraLiberty · 18/08/2021 15:03

I would've said 100% a Mumsnetter, but then I read on and there wasn't a single mention of 'scowling', so now I'm not so sure?

Everyone knows supermarket cashiers scowl at shaking Mumsnetters.

Oh and sneering too, there was none of that Sad

ElCaMum · 18/08/2021 15:04

I used to challenge myself to bag at the speed of the cashier!!!!
But yes the shelves are right there for you to bag your stuff, it’s a very bizarre article.

crumpet · 18/08/2021 15:04

Unless it was the Sistine Chapel lady having another moment?

LimeRedBanana · 18/08/2021 15:05

YANBU.

The only place I come across people ‘crying’, and especially ‘shaking’ is on here.

MrsTumbletap · 18/08/2021 15:05

FFS that is pathetic! Crying and shaking 🙄

Yoksha · 18/08/2021 15:05

This very same thing happened to me a few years ago. When I asked assistant to slow up a bit she responded with
"We're not here for customer convenience". Taken aback I tried to keep up. Sheer fury drove me. In the end I just held
up my hands and said "F**k you", and walked out leaving a half full trolley, food on the checkout and food on the floor.
Never went back. I didn't melt down until I was in the car.
Angry

'Diffuse the situation' is perfectly correct? Am I missing something? 🤔

Well yes!

That's exactly what I thought as I read it ConfusedGrin

WorraLiberty · 18/08/2021 15:07

Just read it again and no-one 'tutted' either 🤷‍♀️

someonelockthefridgealready · 18/08/2021 15:07

I bet she's been to the Sistine Chapel ...

EarringsandLipstick · 18/08/2021 15:08

Or did you think it could only be 'defuse'? Both are actually correct, tho with somewhat different meanings.

FenceSplinters · 18/08/2021 15:08

Ha ha silly woman
