Yes. KEN LOACH for crying out loud, director of "I, Daniel Blake" and many other films. AIBU to suggest this is not likely to be a vote winner? Idiots.

So I don't really understand how responses to that tweet constitute hard evidence that anti-semitism is normalised in mainstream circles

It's baffling that people think that a reasonable number of antisemitic tweets within a thread is just fine and something that can be brushed off as 'a few loons' instead of evidence that there is actually a problem with antisemitism on the left.

If it were racist tweets against black people would you be so casual about it?

Cat's right about the original tweet being a direct invitation to antisemitic responses as well. Anyone who has opposed Corbyn at any time has been accused of being controlled by Israel at some point so it's pretty standard.

I feel genuinely sad that you think antisemitism is rife in British society. I honestly don't think that's true, but I can imagine how difficult it is living your life believing it is, and I empathise with how that must feel.

This is patronising nonsense and you've already admitted that you haven't actually looked for antisemitism and when you have seen it, you've tried to brush it off.

@BrozTito

We said again and again absurd accusations of AS would have a boy who cried wolf effect. It was ignored and guess what has happened?
Since Far Left Wingers, including the Communist Dictator you named yourself after, seem to have a habit of tokenizing Jews who renounce their Judaism in order to "prove themselves" not to be antisemitic (we all know what happened to Lev Bronstein when he was no longer useful to Uncle Joe); and since you have previously made inflammatory remarks about Jehovah's Witnesses which MN saw fit to remove, I don't think you can be called an authority in what is and is not antisemitic/offensive towards various minorites. On another recent thread, you also seemed to approve of visibly Jewish Charedim because they tended not to be Zionist.

You've made it perfectly clear where your sympathies lie, Comrade. And it ain't with the 85 per cent of British Jews who felt that the Labour Party was institutionally antisemitic under JC.*

*For the record, 12% said "Don't know" and only 3% of British Jews said "No."

Loach stood candidates against Labour and was a member of a proscribed group with a bunch of cranks. Good riddance.
