Does anyone else just not like Jason Manford?
I used to quite like him but the last little while he's really started to annoy me and I cant really say exactly why.
Obviously I dont know him personally, Im just talking about as a tv presenter/comedian. I cannot help but roll my eyes and reach for the remote when I hear his voice - am I alone?

I also love Greg Davies. I quite fancy him 😁

Anyone noticed that Jason has managed to turn his tribute to Sean Lock into what a good bloke Jason is for texting his mates? With screenshot of said message as proof? Hmm

I actually quite like Jason and find him funny. I just wish he'd stop reminding us what he's done for charity/covid vaccinations/his kids etc.

MiloAndEddie · 18/08/2021 14:20

@cosmopolitanplease I hadn’t seen it so looked it up. Seems fake to me!Hmm but I might be cynical!

Dreadinggoingbacktothoffice · 18/08/2021 22:29

I thought exactly the same thing @cosmopolitanplease! It was really distasteful. Almost teenage behaviour - ‘oh look I just text him before it happened, we were so close’ Hmm

BrozTito · 18/08/2021 22:48

Grief thief. Has to always be about him

CynsterBitch · 18/08/2021 23:05

I like Jason, his Sunday radio show with Steve Edge is one of the things that kept be going though lockdown.
As for his personal life, we all make mistakes, none of my business and doesn’t affect how I feel about his comedy

I couldn't believe he'd posted a screenshot of that text - absolute wanker!

I did a massive eye roll when I saw his tweet with his text to Sean. So unnecessary to post that! Hmm

Dontevenstart · 19/08/2021 06:28

Manford, Carr & Lycett are all cut from the same cloth.

MiloAndEddie · 19/08/2021 07:00

@Dontevenstart what has Joe Lycett done?! Shock

I’d never put him in the same category as the other two

The Sean Locke story really bothered me. So JM sent him a text just before he died to say how much fun they had working together? That's lovely but he doesn't seem to understand that most people would know that is the sort of thing you keep private as it just looks like self promotion. He could have just said RIP Sean, not told us the contents of a gushing text.

Sean Locke was genuinely very funny and clever. He should have been as high profile as JM but I'm guessing he didn't want to do the whole fake sincere celebrity thing. RIP Sean.

Trinacham · 19/08/2021 07:33

JM doing this brought back memories of when my dad passed. We hadn't announced anything on social media even and someone who hadn't seen my dad for decades wrote a post saying how wonderful he was and how he'd be missed. There's always one, and they are often the people who weren't good buddies with the deceased, they just want the attention.

DarceyDashwood · 19/08/2021 07:48

It’s like all the celebs who posted messages they sent to Caroline Flack in the months before she died. It’s as if they are trying to “prove” they were friends and tried to help her etc. Just find it really cynical - that may not be the intention but that’s how it comes across. Some things don’t need to be broadcast publicly imo.

bringbacksideburns · 21/08/2021 21:22

Bill Bailey was one of Sean Lock's best friends. They went on holiday together with their families. He just put a photo up on instagram of a theatre that had put Sean's name up in lights. And posted a short heartfelt few words on Twitter.

Harry Hill visited him in the hospice and did a wonderful article in the Guardian.

Sharing that text like Jasom did made me cringe. Who does that?

I did like him but a few things and his ego make me think again. Hes a great self publicist.
