I’ll go first:

Losing a pet is not the same as losing a child.

Now your turn!

Most people talk about you behind your back

You must go to the gym

You are killing your elderly parents /grandparents etc if you dont get the jab

Rainbowx · 07/08/2021 16:49

Twins or not do not dress your children in the same bloody clothes!!!!

candlelightsatdawn · 07/08/2021 16:52

Just some recent ones I have seen - these aren't thoughts btw just observations from MN.

All children should be treated equally unless they are part of a blended family. Then the second family should always happily accept less than equal treatment and should not complain because what did you expect.

If you let your kid have screen time you are a lazy parent.

The bar for dads is always acceptably lower than it is for mums.

You should be grateful if the father of your child pays any money towards their up keep.

If you have kids, you definitely shouldn't ever met another man and introduce him. Stay single until they leave the house

Ex from first marriage and any children from first marriage can do absolutely nothing wrong. Regardless of the situation, if in doubt it's the stepmums fault and she's probably the other women any how.

Covid vaccine passports are a good thing.

This one one is mine : inheritance from DP is a gift, not a right you are entitled too.

To not answer the door to unannounced visitors

igelkott2021 · 07/08/2021 17:29

That pavements are for pedestrians and not cars.

igelkott2021 · 07/08/2021 17:31

@LemonPeonies

That if someone you vaguely know has trouble conceiving you must not announce your own pregnancy in fear of upsetting them.
And you are not allowed to announce your pregnancy if a close relative has only just announced hers (or her engagement or wedding) as it's upstaging them. You can't have babies at the same time as other peoples' babies or life events.
RedElephants · 07/08/2021 17:32

Marmite is bloody lovely Grin

igelkott2021 · 07/08/2021 17:34

@Antinerak

It's definitely been said already but 'Karen' is not ageist or mysogynistic.
It really really is.
riotlady · 07/08/2021 17:34

The number of children born per family matters on a population level, not an individual level. A woman choosing to have 4 children is not responsible for climate change any more than a woman who chooses to remain child free is contributing to the end of the human race.

GnomeDePlume · 07/08/2021 17:36

I spend £X on my weekly food shop

Guaranteed to be both ridiculously extravagant and parsimonious within the same thread.

Similarly, I had X for lunch.

Bound to be both the cause of the obesity crisis and barely enough food to keep body and soul together until dinner time.

This then leads to further heated debate about whether it is dinner, tea or supper

LolaSmiles · 07/08/2021 17:37

Happiness is not a finite resource and it's possible to be happy for several people at once.

When some people repeatedly have issues with multiple colleagues across multiple workplaces, there's often something in their own behaviour or attitude that fuels conflict.

LemonPeonies · 07/08/2021 17:39

@igelkott2021 exactly 😅😅

MintyGreenDream · 07/08/2021 17:40

That dogs are better than cats (they are)

InMySpareTime · 07/08/2021 17:59

I can believe it's not butter

Justrealised · 07/08/2021 18:00

Someone with a spouce, kids, home, career, friends etc does not have the same autism disability as someone who needs 24 hour care.

Being a SAHP is quite nice but there is nothing wrong with wanting more also.

Trans women are not women.

Trans women can be nice people and not trying to take away women's rights.

whatthejiggeries · 07/08/2021 18:06

£60k is not a lot of money in the south
Bring a SAHm is the same as having a job

shouldistop · 07/08/2021 18:08

Someone started one once about a child blowing bubbles outside. Covid risk apparently. The 3yo was very unreasonable!

OaxacaChihuahua · 07/08/2021 18:14

TBF I’ve never met a 3yo who isn’t unreasonable 🤣

Was just going to say that "how many children do you have vs how many did you want?" always ends in a bunfight.

I have four, to some people this makes me the equivalent of someone who punches sea turtles for fun.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 07/08/2021 18:41

girl & boy colours

FlyingRabbitsAtNoon · 07/08/2021 19:09

There does seem to be a complete lack of understanding of what controversial even means on this thread - which has ironically meant that many posters have spent their time airing their most ludicrous controversial opinion on a thread about the complete opposite.

So, my newest submission is - uncontroversial opinions are unlikely to be disputed.

£60k is very much a high salary, even in the south.

That you can be British but not English.

It is perplexing that Benedict Cumberbatch is considered a sex symbol.
