I’ll go first:

Losing a pet is not the same as losing a child.

Now your turn!

Putting your Christmas decorations and tree up before is v unreasonable. Hmm

I clean my bum with toilet paper only.

That answering door is normal and actually not dangerous because answering doesn't mean opening 😁

Cats scratch cars that are "tens of thousands of pounds" and the cats owner should pay for a respray.

That people are more important than animals

It’s true and correct that humans do consider (and probably should consider) humans more important than other animals.

However to a dolphin, another dolphin is probably more important than a human. To a baby bear, it’s mother is more important to it than is some random human living somewhere else.

To an advanced alien species, no creature on Earth may be considered of any importance at all.

From ecological perspectives, pretty much every living things performs an important, if not vital function.

So the original statement, “people are more important than animals”, really needs to be qualified. It’s not unreasonable at all to question it in its basic form without any qualifiers present.

Actually I’m sitting here scratching my head trying to think of any topic on MN that doesn’t have the potential to become controversial.

Maybe - veggies are good for you?

That one was barking.

Was she living next to Longleat or Knowsley?🦁🐯

In virtually any major Western country, there are millions of female citizens who have enjoyed greater privilege throughout their life than millions of their fellow male citizens.

Snapped and farted/Sistine Chapel/cancel the cheque weren't funny in the first place and are even worse when someone brings them up now.

Omg I so so agree with this

That earning more than someone else doesn't mean that you work harder than them.

That wheelchair spaces are for wheelchairs.

Too much cabbage can give me awfully bad farts, though... Blush

Which links nicely to "You should be able to fart in the same house/room/bed as your DP"

LostThings · 07/08/2021 12:40

If you let out a property as an investment for your future that is ok and it doesn't mean you are responsible for everyone else's housing problems.

"I got a letter for my solicitor [though can be any mail really - Birthday card even] addressed to "Mrs DH's first name DH's second name" I really hate that, why can't it be addressed to my own name!'

Washing towels, kitchen towels, underwear and clothes together in the washing machine.

GlitchStitch · 07/08/2021 12:44

I appreciate that people think what I said might be controversial but it really shouldn't be.

Your opinion is basically that men should have the right to consequence free sex, and this should be enshrined in law. It really should be controversial.

penguinwithasuitcase · 07/08/2021 12:44

People can and should take responsibility for their own behaviour

littlepeas · 07/08/2021 12:44

That you shouldn’t really park in a parent and child space if you don’t have small children with you.

Unfashionable · 07/08/2021 12:45

Obesity is a lifestyle choice, not a disease.

DontWiltMySpinachPlease · 07/08/2021 12:45

@HollowTalk

That not being able to have a second child is not the same as not being able to have any children.
FUCKING THANK YOU! 👏
Bryonyshcmyony · 07/08/2021 12:45

That it's fine to occasionally park in a parent and child place if there's plenty of spaces.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 07/08/2021 12:47

People are responsible for their own life choices

Parents should finance their own children

Fernando072020 · 07/08/2021 12:47

"Gender" disappointment is ridiculous. Who cares what your baby has between their legs...they are a human being whose sex doesn't actually matter in the grand scheme of things

Theunamedcat · 07/08/2021 12:47

Pet bowls in the dishwasher

To go one better
