to want the local massage parlour (ahem) to change it's telephone number?

because i am sick of taking calls from men wanting to know if Vanessa/ Charlie/ Suzy are there or how much is it for a bl*wjob...!!

went to bed really early last night as very tired, 10.30 - phone rang. 'hey, i want to f*ck you'

i told him to p*ss off and slammed the phone down..

our number is one digit different.. sometimes, if am feeling charitable, i tell them the number that they need.. maybe i should ask for a percentage of their takings?

not changing our number, had it for 12 years.

well, shall i give the madam a ring?

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!

i used to get this years ago, when i lived in london

i ended up getting an answerphone and screened calls

Camillathechicken · 28/11/2007 12:48

i screen calls downstairs, have caller ID.. at night, i tend to answer, in case it is an emergency. also, i somtimes answer even if i don;t recognise the number, as often it is a mobile, and i never know anyone's mobile off teh top of my head..

Poor you, I would approach them directly but tbh they probably wont care. Would BT or the police help it must be VERY annoying.

Camillathechicken · 28/11/2007 12:57

i don't think that BT or the police would be that interested, as it is not constant... or would they?

annoyingly, this place takes out a big ad in th e local paper every single week, with the correct number in it....

CountessDracula · 28/11/2007 12:58

We used to get this with the local hairdressers

very annoying

The best bet would be to make appointments for them and then when they turned up and didn't have one they might be a bit more careful about dialling next time....

bossykate · 28/11/2007 12:59

or alternatively, a little extra money is always useful coming up to christmas, isn't it?

NotQuiteCockney · 28/11/2007 13:00

I get this from some sort of parcel service or something. I just say 'sorry you've misdialed'. But then, it's only 9-5, at least.

I don't know whether they'd care, though - no matter what their number is, it'll always be one digit away from some poor person's number, surely?

callmeovercautious · 28/11/2007 13:01

Speak to the Madam - you never know they might do you a favour! I am grinning about it but I know it's not really funny, especially at night. Hopefully your los don't answer the phone!

Camillathechicken · 28/11/2007 13:04

i did actually think about making appointments, for them, but i would laugh too much!

some of them call quite early.. i always wonder if they have skived off work for a quick bunk up ...

part of it makes me snort with laughter.. other times, especially late at night, it makes me cross

contentiouscat · 28/11/2007 13:05

Perhaps you should take out an ad in the paper...Due to a recent influX of innapproriate calls please be careful when calling XXX I will be noting your number if you get me instead LOL

I do doubt if there is much you can do if BT are getting their money and, the Police are probably too busy to help but might be worth speaking to both as I am sure you are not the first person it has happenened to.

Personally if there were a chance my child would pick up the phone and hear this I would change my number...whilst grinding my teeth in annoyance.

Camillathechicken · 28/11/2007 13:06

I only let DS answer the phone if it is DH .. i had one once ask me 'can you tell me how much you charge for a blwjob or to cm in your face!'

you;d think he would have checked he;d got the right number first!

i said, very primly, 'i would tell you, if i was a prostitute'

cue very sharp intake of breath from him, and realisation that he had not dialled the correct number.

he did grovel.

but then did the same thing the next week

then i told him to f*ck off!

lou33 · 28/11/2007 13:11

tell him "if you have to ask you cant afford me love"

contentiouscat · 28/11/2007 13:11

I expect they have left early so they can have a quick shag and get home to the missus on time.

Camillathechicken · 28/11/2007 13:12

that;s a good one, lou!

NutterlybloodandgUts · 28/11/2007 13:13

Log the numbers and for repeat offenders threaten to post their number in the local paper for being pervy?

Camillathechicken · 28/11/2007 13:32

suppose it would make them dial more carefully......

OP posts:
TheAnticodCod · 28/11/2007 13:33

ring them and tell em

VictorianSqualor · 28/11/2007 13:38

I'd keep the numbers, warn them if they ever call you again that you'll be contacting their wife/other half/police and putting them in the paper. I liked that idea.

But, a 'massage parlour' wouldn't tell you over the phone how much for anything except a massage or a turkish bath, so I would assume those ringing have never been, so I doubt it would be the same people iyswim.

Camillathechicken · 28/11/2007 13:39

maybe i;ll get DH to ring

i would laugh too much

i don;t think it is the same people all the time...

should i threaten to name and shame, and stop giving them the right number?

OP posts:
TheAnticodCod · 28/11/2007 13:40

no they are jsut women- not aliens! ask them what htey coudl do

IntergalacticWalrus · 28/11/2007 13:42

I used to love next door to a brothel in brimngham. I used to get dodgymen knocking my door at all hours of the day and night.

I used to send them next door.

I don;t know why they thought mine was the brothel, my flat was one of a rundown row of buildings, and the brothel was white fronted with Heidi house shutters, so it stuck oyt a mile.

Mind you, it probably didn;t help that I once mistakenly flashed the passengers upsatirs on the no 45 bus from my sitting room.

TheAnticodCod · 28/11/2007 13:42

where igw?

IntergalacticWalrus · 28/11/2007 13:43

and my mum used to come round and remark on what a lovely garden next door had.

TheAnticodCod · 28/11/2007 13:43
