She's biologically male obviously but also hasn't got as good a personal best as some of the other (biologically female) competitors

Just wondering, that's all! I don't agree she should be in that competition either by the way but nothing to say she will win since her personal best isn't as great as some of the others

I wouldn't pretend to know the first thing about the nuances of the sport, but that looked like deliberate tanking to me, starting off with a much higher weight than most of the others, failing three times, out.

The lifting by the women was awesome, great technique. LH's lifting was sketchy, to say the very least. Looked like a club lifter...

My heart goes out to the female New Zealand athlete or any female athlete who had her space taken by this shit athlete.

She failed all three of the first lifts — the snatch — so no she doesn’t progress to the clean and jerk — she’s out of the competition. You have to have at least one good lift in the snatch in order to progress to the clean and jerk.

From what's been said here I don't know if that was deliberate or just a poor quality competitor who has sneaked in through a technicality but how arrogant either way, and how unfair to the woman who has missed out.

It's strategic. Mark my words at the end of the Olympics the announcement will be made that transwomen on reduced testosterone have no advantage. We'll just have to wait and see whether the IOC will then keep the rules the same or take away the pathetic testosterone requirement.

Must be soul destroying for the other competitors as well as for the thousands of upcoming young female athletes who will probably be wondering whether it's worth all the years of hard work to potentially be stymied at the last minute. But as long as this one person is happy it's all good .....

Emily Campbell seems to think it is ok Do you know, I 'get' that some men don't see why there is a problem but when women sell other women out it is utterly depressing. So LH didn't place, didn't lift even. But this paves the way for a 23 year old transwoman next time. Wonder what Emily would have to say if Emily came up against such a 'woman'?
