Chilling when you think about consequences (or no consequences).

Hello EchoNan.

EchoNan · 13/10/2021 13:25

It is indeed lionheart.
What if? Runs wild in my head at times. What if Ivanka Trump had actually succeeded in being hoisted into the World Bank? Lawd!

EchoNan · 13/10/2021 13:29

lionheart that is! Sorry for fat fingers there.
(Although ionheart could be an interesting alter ego?) Smile

lionheart · 13/10/2021 13:44

You are right. Ionheart also works.

Are we finally going to get some answers?

@RepAdamSchiff on Jan. 6 Committee subpoenas: "We're not messing around. If people don't show up, if people don't provide the documents they're compelled to, we intend to take up criminal contempt."

Oh, let there be criminal contempt please. They cannot be allowed to get away with ignoring

Trump is now calling on Republicans not to vote — declaring “Republicans will not be voting in ‘22 or ‘24” if his election fraud hoax is not “solved” first. He helped Republicans lose two Georgia Senate seats in January. Now he seems ready to try it again in the midterms.

Hello, I hope all is good with you stalwarts! I just popped in to share this screenshot from Twitter. I think this could be put to better use in somewhere in Texas, for example, or a deep red state, rather than New York, but still, it's not bad at all!

There isn't any quorum requirement for a US election, is there?

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 14/10/2021 13:52

Is Trump's power over Republicans starting to slip?

lionheart · 14/10/2021 19:20

Love the 'No Vote' idea. The Democrats should have suggested this ...

Jan. 6 committee will move to hold former Trump aide Bannon in criminal contempt for not complying with subpoena.

The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol announced on Thursday that it will move to hold Stephen K. Bannon in criminal contempt for not complying with its subpoena as it seeks to force former Trump administration officials to cooperate with its inquiry.
Chairman Bennie G. Thompson (D-Miss.) said the panel will meet Tuesday when the House returns to Washington to vote to adopt a contempt report.
“The Select Committee will use every tool at its disposal to get the information it seeks, and witnesses who try to stonewall the Select Committee will not succeed,” Thompson said in a statement.
The panel has opted to give other former Trump officials more time to comply with its subpoenas.

If you won't wear a mask, and the only airline where you are requires them, well, you just have to go by car and ferry.

prettybird · 14/10/2021 22:01

Is it really mean to hope that she gets a really bad case and that the invermectin is as bad for her as she has been warned. Blush

TheNorthWestPawsage · 14/10/2021 22:26

No prettybird not mean at all. My 'thoughts and prayers' are not all they should be nowadays. (Not that they ever were if I'm totally honest...)

In a funny way, I don't care whether McCabe was"one of the good guys" or not: I always just felt that firing him the day before he retired was a shit's trick.

lionheart · 15/10/2021 14:49

Yes, it was a sneaky thing.

AcrossthePond55 · 15/10/2021 15:17

Just heard about that poor MP being stabbed.

I know I blame him for everything, but this is another trouble that, as far as I'm concerned, can be laid at Doofus' door. He's the one who started the nasty name calling, and the open season 'go get 'em' language that has encourage violence against those in the public eye, especially against politicians he hated. That mindset spreads like poison in certain people, regardless of their political affiliations.

PerkingFaintly · 15/10/2021 15:36

I know, it's horrific news.Sad

Doofus has certainly encouraged such behaviour, but alas it really didn't start with him. The murder of Jo Cox was before the Brexit referendum, never mind the 2016 US election.

The murderer of Cox was a far-right political nutjob, but there's no shortage of people being wound up by the rhetoric and division-stoking, and it's been going on for a long time.

I'm gutted another MP's been killed. Absolutely gutted. Don't know by whom or why yet.

Roussette · 15/10/2021 17:09

It's horrendous and his poor family Shock how awful for them

I worry about how divisive this country has got.
I think some social media is to blame, which is ironic given I'm typing on SM at the moment...

AcrossthePond55 · 15/10/2021 19:07

I did not realize he had died. 'Our' news sources just reported the stabbing. Thoughts and prayers for his family. A life of public service should never end this way.

I remember Jo Cox's murder, but since the ramping up bulllshit from Doofus was already underway as part of his campaign, I figured it had contributed to it. The Good Lord knows I blame that man for everything, including my stubbed toe and La Niña.
