[quote AskingQuestionsAllTheTime]It's very unworthy, but I really do feel this one deserved to be knocked off her high horse for sixty days.

What a crock!

She'll be out in 30 days with time off for good behaviour. That's not a sentence that's going to deter anyone. Rather, it'll encourage others to do similar acts.

The sentences so far have been pretty much a joke.

AcrossthePond55 · 04/11/2021 19:10

Crock meaning the sentence.

Not @AskingQuestionsAllTheTime's comment

Just wandering in with Wine and Brew for the thread, as I'm a bit weary and taking something of a break just now.

Thank you to you stalwarts for keeping it going.

borntobequiet · 04/11/2021 21:38

Thanks Perking, it came up in Active and I realised I hadn’t checked it out for what seems ages.

Finally.
"Congress passes $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill"

edition.cnn.com/2021/11/05/politics/house-votes-infrastructure-build-back-better/index.html

At 228-206 and 13 Republicans voting in favour, it doesn't feel particularly bipartisan, but better than nothing. Six Democrats against. Hmm

I wonder if Biden's popularity will rise after this.

AcrossthePond55 · 06/11/2021 13:33

I'm really glad the infrastructure bill passed, but I'm also anxiously awaiting movement an passage of the social spending bill. I'm afraid it's going to end up gutted. It's desperately needed to improve the lives of millions of Americans.

I was pleased for the US too.. to pass the infrastructure bill. Fingers crossed on the social spending bill

(Across Do hope your DH is doing ok)

AcrossthePond55 · 06/11/2021 17:11

@Roussette

DH is getting by, thank you for asking.

His kidney function isn't coming back as they'd like so he goes for IV hydration 3 x week to pump liquid through to hopefully help clear the aftereffects of chemo/radiation out of his system. His sense of smell and taste are still non-existent so he's still existing on Ensure and diary products (which he can tolerate) but we've been told to be patient.

On the good side his energy level is pretty much back to normal other than some fatigue, but we think this is from not being able to really eat nutritious, energy-rich foods.

He gets his 90 day PET scan in December which will show if the treatment 'got it all'.

Roussette · 06/11/2021 18:19

Fingers x'd for the scan in December Flowers

It really is! It's 30 miles each way from our place through the city centre to the hospital. And the timings usually coincide with rush hour. Last week he had to make the trip 4 times (3 infusions + a Dr appt). He's been driving himself so our dog doesn't have to be crated for the 4-5 hours he's gone. He and the dog are devoted to each other, I'm a poor second with both of them, but I don't mind. It's so sweet to see them together.
Roussette · 06/11/2021 21:40

Gosh, that's a journey and a half

Hope that reduces soon

Oh honey, you aren't a big-time victim; you're a small-time loser. You did something stupid and wrong, you got caught and you are going to be punished for what you did. Get over it.

If what you had caught had been cancer, then you could call yourself a victim.
