They are the bane of my life. Anyone else? Never had them when I was younger, but I pluck them, use hair removal cream, dermaplane and so on yet they’re back a bloody day later.

Same here. Nobody ever told me I'd be growing a bloody beard. Started late 30s. I'm now mid 50s. Will it ever end???!!!

Thechainsmokers12 · 20/07/2021 07:58

They’re relentless, the stubble is back after a day. All the hair removal we’re expected to do as women..

I have to do a daily check...I have a cluster of them...eugh

Justcallmebebes · 20/07/2021 08:59

I'd have a full, and I like to think rather impressive goatee, if I left mine.

That's also my nightmare scenario, being in hospital or otherwise incapacitated, without tweezers

Ilovegreentomatoes · 20/07/2021 09:04

So glad to hear this is normal.40s and have to check every morning before I leave the house as normally have about 3_4 new ones appear each day.sometimes more .Would like laser but so expensive and can't really afford it.

CruCru · 20/07/2021 09:04

I’ve been having mine lasered. They do still come (the white ones that the laser can’t see) but nothing like they used to be. I’d never thought of it but the amount of time I was spending dealing with it was getting ridiculous.

Ilovegreentomatoes · 20/07/2021 09:05

And yes had a panic attack one morning when I couldn't find my tweezers!
Now have a back up pair just in case.

TheLeadbetterLife · 20/07/2021 09:07

I’ve had them since my teens. They never seem to get any better or worse, and I’m used to the plucking now I’m nearly 40. Usually two or three a day need to be tweezered.

Celandines · 20/07/2021 09:07

I use an epilady then tweeze any it doesn't grab

Celandines · 20/07/2021 09:11

Sorry think it's the braun Silk epil I have

ScottishDiblet · 20/07/2021 09:14

I have been having electrolysis on mine and it really works. I’ve been having laser on my upper lip but am going to switch to electrolysis now as I think that’s more effective. Definitely worth the investment.

Greenwateringcan · 20/07/2021 09:15

Following. I hate the wee bastards.

tropicalwaterdiver · 20/07/2021 09:20

Probably its worth to use laser as a permanent solution?
My mum has it and as far as I remember from her 40s. I think it's correlated with PCOS.

SpiceRat · 20/07/2021 09:25

33 and been checking since 23. I don’t have masses, maybe 10 that come in all different times. One has now sprung up that is grey Grin what I don’t get is I can check, do make up etc for a few days and then I’ll catch myself in the mirror and have one bastard half an inch long!!! How did that sprout so quickly?

ScottishNewbie · 20/07/2021 09:27

Electrolysis. It won't be expensive or take too long if you have only a few hairs. Although be aware it takes 13 weeks for the hair to cycle. I thought I was plucking the same hairs out every few days....nope.
The lady doing my treatment shocked me when she said that they were all different hairs and proceeded to count what she could see under the skin. (Far, far more than I realised). I have had 3 sessions so far and still haven't passed over all the hairs yet as they pop up at different times.

AnotherDayAnotherCake · 20/07/2021 09:32

Yeah my 40s brought me a beard.
I get the epilator out and blitz it in one go every month.
As a result when it does grow back its fluffy. Shit, just realised that as I get older I’m going to resemble Santa.
Wonderful.

roses2 · 20/07/2021 09:36

I bought a Philips Lumea which has taken care of mine. I had huge issues before and now I just get a stray once every few months.

Parttimemostofthetime · 20/07/2021 09:39

I'm 31 and started with them this last year. I've got horrible thick ones on my jawline to. I use a Hollywood browzer. I'd get them lazered but apparently it doesn't work on red hair?

Gingernaut · 20/07/2021 09:41

I shave.

My skin is too delicate to epilate, wax or pluck and I'm allergic to remover creams.

I've got a reverse goatee going on, with a blank space directly under my mouth and a 'smiley' of thick ginger stubble with neck beard hairs developing.

I'm shaving every day and further and further down my neck.

Michaelknightsleatherjacket · 20/07/2021 09:41

What’s the reason for it? (Not yours op but chin hairs in general)
Is it a sign of perimenopause , pcos or what else?
I considered seeing a gp as they suddenly appeared having never been there before.
These threads are often very amusing but rarely get to the bottom of why we grow beards….
I wonder if anyone noticed chin hairs and was consequently diagnosed with a hormonal imbalance or similar?

lap90 · 20/07/2021 09:41

Noticed them in my 20s... no PCOS, just the odd chin hair.
Pluck them every week or so.

Gazelda · 20/07/2021 09:41

Would electrolysis work on very, very blond hairs? I know that laser won't.

Or should I get a Lumea?
I use tweezers and a springy thing at the moment, but it never feels completely smooth.

MumofSpud · 20/07/2021 09:44

Came on to say the same - I check daily so how can one suddenly appear - a lovely 1 inch black wavy one?!Angry
vegas888 · 20/07/2021 09:44

Why are they so wiry and tough to pluck too. I have one that I pluck and within a day or two it’s growing back. Now I’m obsessed with rubbing my chin to see if I can feel any.

WITW7 · 20/07/2021 09:45

I have the same problem! Mind started late 20s. It’s hormonal I was told by a nurse…
