They are the bane of my life. Anyone else? Never had them when I was younger, but I pluck them, use hair removal cream, dermaplane and so on yet they’re back a bloody day later.

I had mine electrolysised about 10 years ago but sadly it wasn't permanent and they're coming back now that I'm in the peri menopause so I'm getting them done again

Shellingbynight · 20/07/2021 14:51

Mine started arriving in my 30s (thirty years ago). I used to tweeze them but I now use one of these, it was recommended on Style & Beauty. I use it every other day, it's painless and quicker than tweezing. The one I bought is no longer available but this looks very similar.

@ Bryonyshcmyony
If you use a razor they grow back far more stubbly. I have no idea why.

Bryonyshcmyony · 20/07/2021 15:01

That finishing touch thing is a razor though?

It's because the top of the hair is blunt after being shaved with a razor so whilst it isn't actually any thicker, it just feels like it.

Interesting thread. I had a few stubbly hairs on my neck at about age 20 and got rid of them with electrolysis. From age 32, I developed alopecia and have now at 54 lost almost all body hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, and half my head hair (receding back from forehead)! I still however get irritating hairs growing from round my nipples!! Agh ....

ThreeKneeRepeater · 20/07/2021 17:37

My family have strict instructions to carry on tweezing me if I am ever physically or mentally incapacitated. Perhaps I should do a written instruction in case they are accused of assaulting me. Grin

I have a hair that appears along my jawline. Jet black, about half an inch long. But it never grows. I never see it as a shorter, earlier growth hair. It appears, full length, once every few months. And it is very satisfying to tweeze it out.

StrongArm · 20/07/2021 17:45

Mine honestly feel like they are connected to my brain when I pull them out

CatBumJuice · 20/07/2021 17:53

I have a deal with my sister that if either of us is incapacitated in hospital, the other will be in daily with the tweezers. I've developed a horrid habit of checking for them on my chin while I'm watching telly, and trying to pull them out with my fingers. It's not easy.

christyt114 · 20/07/2021 17:54

@Justcallmebebes

I'd have a full, and I like to think rather impressive goatee, if I left mine.

That's also my nightmare scenario, being in hospital or otherwise incapacitated, without tweezers

My best friend and I have a pact that if one of us is ever in a coma or something in hospital, the other will sort out chin hairs and eyebrows for them! Grin

@burritofan

My people! My hairy, hairy people! I have tweezers in every room in the house; it’s so bad I’ve abandoned my eyebrows entirely, moustache barely gets a look in, it’s all about the fucking bristle chin.

DP has a beard and DD says, “Daddy has a hairy FACE and Mummy has a hairy CHIN” Sad

Yes! I looked in the mirror this morning and saw loads at the corners of my mouth. I'm constantly stroking my chin these days, I must look very intellectual 😁
BountyIsUnderrated · 20/07/2021 19:00

Ah since having a baby last year I've been getting loads, really dark ones too.
It's worse further underneath my chin, used to only get one chin hair every couple months. Sad
I'm only 26 so probably going to grow a big bushy beard.
Unfortunately hairiness runs in my family.. no pcos either and bloods are normal.

Thecazelets · 20/07/2021 19:16

I never had a single chin hair when I was younger, so couldn't understand what all the fuss was about. Until I turned 40 - then, oh my god. Well over a decade ago now but I should take out shares in Tweezerman. I have them in every colour in every room and every bag, and I get slightly panicky if I can't find them. The worst ones are the thick colourless ones like toothbrush bristles. I swear they make a noise when I pull them out. Chin is never, ever 100% smooth and they seem to pop up every couple of hours. DH has got used to me absently-mindedly chin plucking while we watch TV.

19lottie82 · 20/07/2021 19:25

I’m 39 and have had them since my early 20s. TBH I quite enjoy plucking them out, it’s oddly satisfying! 😂
