They are the bane of my life. Anyone else? Never had them when I was younger, but I pluck them, use hair removal cream, dermaplane and so on yet they’re back a bloody day later.

Nightmare mine started a couple of years ago and I’m super paranoid about them. They are black. I’m 31 for perspective.

I pluck and use the lumea on mine which has helped loads

Bryonyshcmyony · 20/07/2021 12:40

The lumea is brilliant and I shave the white ones!

muffins899 · 20/07/2021 12:42

I use an epilator on mine every month. Takes seconds and works a treat!

Littlemissweepy · 20/07/2021 12:43

Another vote for electrolysis, though it took about 12 sessions a month apart so isn’t a quick solution. And so difficult to resist plucking in between times but if you do you will just extend the time it takes to clear them all. So so worth it.

IrishMumInLondon2020 · 20/07/2021 12:44

@nancywhitehead who expects it? Rightly or wrongly, I don’t think any of us would be comfortable going out sporting a full beard.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 20/07/2021 12:45

I love my Lumea and my now hair free legs but didn't have much luck using it with chin hair.
Then the fuckers started growing white so wouldn't work anyway 😭

I have a mix of white and black and all the black ones are gone now.
HummingBeeBox · 20/07/2021 12:49

I have tweezers with me always. They go form 2 mm to 2 inches in the blink of an eye. I pull out 6-12 every day. It's genetic, my mum is the same. Waxing and creams don't touch them. They're monster stubble

Borisjohnsonshairbrush · 20/07/2021 12:49

Haha @AutistGoth
Good to make someone chuckle

HummingBeeBox · 20/07/2021 12:50

@muffins899 how long do they have to be for the epilator to work?

Zealois · 20/07/2021 12:50

I've always had a few but for some reason I've loads more since coming off the pill 6 months ago. Definitely did not expect that...

I just shave them off. They pop up over night and are so dark and thick.

AlternativePerspective · 20/07/2021 12:53

I just use the JML flawless thing, sorry can’t remember the exact name, but it’s about the size of a lipstick and has a head which you just pass over the hairs.

I do have a facial epilator but I haven’t used it in a while because of using the JML gadget.

I had electrolysis years ago to no avail. I bought an electrolysis machine which was crap. I can’t have either that or laser now because I have an ICD and there is potential for interference there.

HazyDaisy123456 · 20/07/2021 12:53

I had the odd one in my 40’s now mid 50’s they sprout up out of nowhere I have about 6 pairs of tweezers on the go in the house as teen daughter and DH keep nicking them.

sheepysheep · 20/07/2021 12:54

I have a persistent one just under my jaw. Nothing one day then bam, inch long black pube the next. It started off thin, white and wispy (late 30s) and DH called it my nanny goat hair. A few years later and he’s rechristened it a “pig bristle”. He is my chief bristle puller and usually the first I know about its resurgence is a shout of “don’t move, I’ll get the tweezers” as I’m stood under one of the kitchen spotlights 😬

MistyGreenAndBlue · 20/07/2021 12:55

We are so conditioned to think that facial hair is unfeminine and yet so many women have it
Including me.
Hmmm. Time to embrace my woman beard I think.
Who's with me? 💪

SweatyBetty20 · 20/07/2021 12:56

I’ve had them since I was 17 - was diagnosed with PCOS at 30. I tried everything - shave, wax, thread, cream, laser. Bit the bullet and went for electrolysis a year before I went on a very off the beaten track trekking holiday where I knew I wouldn’t be able to deal with it.

My lady beard was really bad - the beautician said it was the worst she’d seen when I asked her to be honest with me. It’s taken five years and a lot of money but I pay as I go. I started off with 2 x 45 sessions a week for the first six months, but now I’m on a top up routine once every 8 weeks. It’s the best thing I ever did and without understatement it changed my life.

MistyGreenAndBlue · 20/07/2021 12:59

DH says my beard is sexy. But he's always been a bit strange 😂

My people! My hairy, hairy people! I have tweezers in every room in the house; it’s so bad I’ve abandoned my eyebrows entirely, moustache barely gets a look in, it’s all about the fucking bristle chin.

DP has a beard and DD says, “Daddy has a hairy FACE and Mummy has a hairy CHIN” Sad

OhGiveUp · 20/07/2021 13:02

Can I ask you hirsuited ladies, since the appearance of your chin hair, have any of you noticed hairs springing out from your breasts?
I ask because a few weeks ago I had 3 thick black buggers spout from my nipple area.....which is baffling as my chin hair is a mix of fair and grey.
Oh Christ, I'm turning into a bloke aren't I 😭

beardeddragon174 · 20/07/2021 13:04

I only have one so far (I'm 36). But it's VERY DARK and really thick? Like wtf???? Why isn't my actual head hair that thick???

saraclara · 20/07/2021 13:04

@Justcallmebebes

I'd have a full, and I like to think rather impressive goatee, if I left mine.

That's also my nightmare scenario, being in hospital or otherwise incapacitated, without tweezers

I had to specifically ask the carers at both my Mum's and my MIL's care facilities, to regularly shave their chins. Both would be absolutely appalled and humiliated to be seen by visitors, with the inch long chin hairs that they were growing and no-one was seeing to.
IceLace100 · 20/07/2021 13:07

@ScottishDiblet

I have been having electrolysis on mine and it really works. I’ve been having laser on my upper lip but am going to switch to electrolysis now as I think that’s more effective. Definitely worth the investment.
I'm having electrolysis on my face. Really working, although I recommend shopping around for a good price and good therapist who has an up to date machine.
AutistGoth · 20/07/2021 13:07

Those who are saying that we should embrace our facial hair, you're right. Here is Harnaam Kaur. I love her! Smile
