To waste my weekend hiding from the baking hot sun?

Moaned about the weather and the sunshine is here by the bucket load this weekend. Am I having a day out somewhere lovely, taking a walk somewhere pretty or enjoying the garden. No. I'm indoors trying to keep cool avoiding the sun until the garden gets some shade.

Am I the only one wasting their weekend avoiding the sun?

We were at a pool party yesterday (was bloody hot. Even with the pool!!) Today it's about 4c hotter so we're indoors. Kids hate the heat and everything close by that we could do (splash park / play park with water fountains) will be rammed.

Our terrace is a pure sun trap so we currently have shutters closed and fans on full pelt.

I'm in and out. We had a long walk in the woods this morning where it was cooler (normally go for a long run) and now I'm doing short stints outside. I've got strap lines and they don't coordinate with where my wedding dress sits so I'm trying to get rid of them 😂

My DH complained because we have greenery along the boundary line which grows quite tall plus a tree so we get a lot of shade.

He doesn’t complain now

I can only manage being in the garden, not doing anything though

We’ve got a tall fan and lovely sorbets on the go.

Alternating standing in thighdeep paddling pool under gazebo with hiding indoors with fan on. We,re isolating so no choice. Grateful for pool and fan. Also have bastard of a chest infection so dry air makes cough worse. Can't sleep so verrrry grumpy. DH is being saintly. I'm finding me unbearable.

Well if it's way too hot to be in the sun, why would you be wasting your day staying cool, relaxed and comfortable indoors? Totally the right thing to do.

Never liked the hot weather, and since being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 5 years ago I have become completely intolerant of it.

Yesterday I spent in my favourite bingo club, today I'm doing chores in the house, blinds down,curtains drawn. Bliss.

My house is on a wrap around plot and has sun all day. I had to take my DM to the hospital earlier for a scan and I sat on a bench outside which was in the shade. It was lovely but the scan appointment was quicker than I expected and I had to get back in a sweltering car to take her home.I

I'm now a sweaty mess sitting in my own boiling hot house.

No shade in my garden until after 6, so indoors until it is less oppressive.

I hate it! I’m inside with my hot cranky fussy 7 week old and a snotty grotty 16 month old who has kindly shared his germs with the entire family especially me! Feel like I’m dying and doing it with a baby attached to my nipple. Not to mention I spent 3/4 of last night making sure DD was still breathing. The joys of newborns in a heatwave.

Bd careful what you wish for those complaining about the rain last week. I had to do some diy that had to be done today so only just come out I’ve had 2 showers already today as was drowning in sweat . I’m sat in the shade with a cold beer as it’s a bit too hot for me and I love the sun normally.

Inside here as well, love the Summer but not this hot, I agree it feels a waste when it is too hot to do anything, no shade in the garden so definitely not going out there, not worth going outside to get even hotter, sun burnt and feel ill.

We're spending the weekend inside too, other than dashing out with laundry from time to time. I really don't like hot weather.

I was working yesterday and Friday. It can be quite a physical job and it was just awful!

I’m not great in the heat at the best of times, throw in perimeno and 🥵

Not wasting the day, I’m recuperating Ice, fan on full, chilled vodka and tonic, and a pack of baby wipes in the fridge for my return to work tomorrow....

We’re hiding too, this weather doesn’t suit everyone.

I'm indoors too (suffering from the F1 on the telly that DH is watching) because it's just too darn hot outside.

Not a sun worshipper, I've never been one for basking in the rays, it gives me a headache. Our garden faces west and it's like an oven out there.

I'm hiding as well. I'm on the sofa in front of the fan. I HATE it

I was out at 07.00 to drop dd off to work, then was on the beach with the dogs until 08.30. I have been inside since then. Too bloody hot

YANBU. I'm so fair skinned that I cannot be out in the sun for too long. I've taken DS to his hobbies but aside from that I'm staying in.

I absolutely dread the summer every year. I've had skin cancer before so the thought of hot sunny days fills me with absolute fear and anxiety. I obviously don't want to project my fears on to the dc so I force myself to get out and about with them. I can never really enjoy a day out because I am constantly applying suncream or clock watching until I can reapply. It's relentless.
Indoors the curtains and blinds are always closed and we have fans in every room so it's not too bad thankfully.

I hate the rain too. I like a nice warm breezy day, about 20 degrees tops. Hate rain and hate this heat.

It's nice here today high up in the Peak District, sunny with a pleasant breeze. We also have a very lovely shady terrace, have just had lunch outside and will stay out for the rest of the day.

We’re in at the moment but will probably go and lie down in the shade in the park outside our flat soon.

I got up at 5 to go for a bike ride before it got too hot. Luckily our lounge is in the basement so it's lovely and cool. Think I might sleep in here tonight.
