Inspired by another thread where a poster said she always has a box of lovely chocolates on the go and has one a night, I'd love to do this. I have a really sweet tooth, and do like to eat chocolate at night but I'm finding every bar too big , but of course if you start one, you finish it. I think I'd like to do the one chocolate thing but I'm very much a Cadbury person at mo and all the boxed chocolates in the supermarkets are a bit meh. So I need recommendations for boxes of lovely chocs , where you can just eat one at a time

I used to love Paul Young, when I lived more central, no idea if they deliver.

I’m surprised at the posters saying you can’t eat one a night. If I have a box of nice chocolates that’s what I always do. Especially if they’re expensive - I like to make them last!

I wouldn't have the willpower for just one.

Charbonnel et Walker's Marc de Champagne truffles saved my Christmas last year.

crochetmonkey74 · 17/07/2021 19:47

So many good recommendations to try out! I agree about the dark bitterness , I find I dont want more than one if it's a flavoured truffle too. Havent had thorntons for years so will look, lindor balls are ok but sometimes even one is a bit sickly for me. I do like a lindt bunny though but again I'd eat it all.

Fucking hell. £82 for 49 chocolates though! (If I had the money I'd bloody buy them though, they are so good)

Yes to Hotel Chocolat. I like the raspberry smoothie ones, and any of theirs with praline.

PandemicPalava · 17/07/2021 19:49

I got s gorgeous box of Prestat for my birthday. Delicious and beautiful packaging

SuperSange · 17/07/2021 19:49

Some of the Fortnums chocolates are made near me. In Hampshire.

crochetmonkey74 · 17/07/2021 19:49

I can highly recommend a couple of lovely chocolate makers who deliver amazing handmade chocolates - Chococo and de Rosier

meditrina · 17/07/2021 19:51

@Simbacatisback - you are very wicked, and I think I love you for that link!

Imascarecrow · 17/07/2021 19:51

Hotel Chocolat! 😁

Another recommendation for Charbonnel et Walker just can't beat them especially the Marc de champagne truffles!

I second Paul Young chocolates, they are amazing. The plus side of COVID is that started selling online. I normally always get a box when I'm in London.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 17/07/2021 19:57

I like Booja-booja dark Ecuadorian truffles for a treat.

decoratedstandardlamp · 17/07/2021 19:59

Booja booja
Amazing

Looubylou · 17/07/2021 19:59

I think all chocolates have shrunk in size and one just doesn't do it. Once upon a time you could bite into a Thorntons truffle- not anymore. 😢

Mia184 · 17/07/2021 20:03

Domori Porcelana - dark chocolate that I actually like. And they sell it in tiny bars of 25 grams so you can eat the whole thing. But very expensive.

jaundicedoutlook · 17/07/2021 20:05

This

DH used to buy it when he went to Switzerland - sadly he doesn’t go very often now and they won’t deliver to U.K. as far as I can see since (bloody) Brexit. But if you’re ever in Zurich they sell it at the Merkur shop at the top of the Bahnhofstrasse.

Cornflake milk in the smoothest chocolate - I could eat a kilo of it right now.

littlepieces · 17/07/2021 20:07

What's the deal with Hotel Chocolat? Mostly tastes like that really cheap advent calendar chocolate to me?

I usually split a bar of Green and Black's or Divine and try to ration it out to myself throughout the week...
