DH insisting the oven is a microwave too. Should I LTB or wait and watch?

For context, on holiday in a cottage. First holiday for yonks. Been a long long day and everyone a bit tired so we must be generous here.

DH making a latte. Getting very rattled at the pod machine. I've tried to help but, no, he knows best. Now insisting he can heat the milk in the microwave. There is no microwave. It's an oven and grill. DH has dug his heels in and is insisting it is a microwave and is now trying to put a mug of milk in it to heat. He won't be told different.

I'm now sitting watching this unfold.

Any thoughts?

The bonus for you is he knows how it works. Perhaps he'll take over the cooking while he decides if it's worth having one at home.

sorry I hadn't seen your thread earlier OP - could have saved you the wait as I have a multi function Siemens oven that has microwave feature and looks like regular oven with metal racks etc!

Bravefox - My microwave allows for tin foil and other foil dishes so would take metal ones too. My sister has an oven which is a microwave as well and it does look like a conventional oven and yes it has racks. But she can use it as a microwave. Her kitchen is tiny so this has been a necessity for her.

No they don't. I have a flat bed microwave that steams and cooks conventionally.

This is bizarre would you really want to cook you dinner in it as an oven and while it still smells of chicken then warm up your cold coffee ☕
Also if you ever get divorced you know he will note this as one of the reasons why as you didn't believe him 😂

I did wonder op. Like I said our microwave looks more like a small oven and it does all the things an oven would do, as well as microwave. would never go back to a turntable microwave.

It’s so clean.
Of course it's clean, it's in a holiday cottage. That means it hardly ever gets used, and it gets cleaned every time new guests arrive.

Hmm, I always heat my milk in a microwave and since the op's husband has used an actual real life microwave, I can't see the issue. Grin
