DH insisting the oven is a microwave too. Should I LTB or wait and watch?

For context, on holiday in a cottage. First holiday for yonks. Been a long long day and everyone a bit tired so we must be generous here.

DH making a latte. Getting very rattled at the pod machine. I've tried to help but, no, he knows best. Now insisting he can heat the milk in the microwave. There is no microwave. It's an oven and grill. DH has dug his heels in and is insisting it is a microwave and is now trying to put a mug of milk in it to heat. He won't be told different.

I'm now sitting watching this unfold.

Any thoughts?

One of these is just an oven the other is an oven and microwave in one- it has special metal shelves in but you can’t tell the difference by looking. It’s great

I think he knew it was a combi as beside the degrees celsius it also says W (watts).

I have a 45cm microwave combi that has metal racks and as others have posted you can get 60cm ones too...

Obviously the owner checked out mumsnet for what to stock her holiday let with & combi oven-microwave was mentioned.

We have only ourselves to blame here.

I've just bought 2 ovens for my new kitchen, they look identical but one is a combi oven with microwave function.

I’ve written it for them.

A woman was left red faced after taking to Mumsnet to mock her hubby for trying to make a latte in the oven.

‘Please film him’ said one poster.

‘Narrate it David Attenborough style’ said another.

But doubt was cast when some posters mentioned that they owned combination ovens which are both conventional ovens and microwaves.

The woman posted pictures, showing it had metal racks in.

‘You can’t put metal in a microwave’ said many posters.

Eventually the woman was forced to admit she was wrong and the her husband had been right - it was a microwave!

‘At least I’ve got a latte’ she mused as other mums suggested she needed to eat some humble pie.

Ah, glad everyone has enjoyed our kitchen capers. We managed to cook chicken for dinner so all good.

Still cannot understand how an oven can be a microwave but like a lot of things, it is what it is Grin

This is hilarious - we have a full oven, grill, steams, microwaves and is self cleaning. I love it!
