Where will you be watching the final tomorrow?

I know not everyone will be watching but just interested to see the consensus.

I.e. at home, at a friends house or party, a fan zone, a pub, Wembley etc.

I'll either be at home or just going to a friends. There'd probably be a lot more in pubs if not for the restrictions. Having to book etc will put people off (and it being a Sunday night).

Letting the older DC stay up to watch at home.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 10/07/2021 18:48

@LakieLady

At home. Djokovic will win.
Classy 🤣

@Babdoc

I’m watching it in Scotland, so will be alone at home. I have nothing but contempt for the “anyone but England” mentality of some of the more racist and unpleasant members of the Scottish fraternity, and I’m sick of their sour grapes over us reaching the final while they were knocked out. When the situation was reversed - in ‘78, when Scotland were in the World Cup and England failed to qualify, all we English supported the Tartan Army without question, as a home nation. Just as we supported Murray at Wimbledon. I think it speaks volumes as to our national character.
Not all the English did. But you wouldn't miss any opportunity to portray Scottish people I a negative light.

@snoin

I don't like England, and so I don't support them to win at anything.

I will be watching from continental Europe, sitting on the roof terrace with a nice glass of wine - I suspect the whole of Europe will be wanting England to lose. Happy to join them.

God, some people are such miserable little wankbadgers. Some posts on Mumsnet remind me every day to be thankful for the normal people I have in my life!

I’ll be watching it at home. Will no doubt make the cat and dog grumpy with my commentary at the tv 😂

Sparklingbrook · 10/07/2021 19:23

I thought Wimbledon had finished last week. Blush

That will make victory all the sweeter Grin

Dh and kids have gone away for weekend to see his parents and I'm staying at home with the cat - feel a bit of a loser I'm watching on my own ...I did think of driving to a friends but I genuinely think if we win the streets will be mental and it might be tricky driving home (congas down the motorway etc ?!?) I feel like a total glory suppprter as only watched it this week ! Still not as good as euro 96 in my opinion though

LindaEllen · 10/07/2021 19:31

Next door are having a bbq and party then watching on their big screen. Can't wait!

edwinbear · 10/07/2021 19:36

At home with DC. I find all the shouting, swearing, taking off of tops and throwing beer about off putting - and actually quite intimidating. So we’ll be snuggled up on the sofa with snacks and a clean loo!

Thirtyrock39 · 10/07/2021 19:37

someone up thread mentioned doing a thread so those of us watching on our own can watch on mumsnet I will be up for that !!

Geamhradh · 10/07/2021 19:38

@snoin
I'm in Italy. I teach 300 Italians a week. Not one of them will ever be like you, so don't you dare speak for them.

Afolnerd · 10/07/2021 19:45

I will be at home watching with teenager Ds and his friend.

Dh will be at Wembley with his mate, they are very excited!

JudgeJ · 10/07/2021 19:49

Highlights programme later on Sunday, if it's the 'right' result, as I've done for every match so far! You want them to win, don't you?

I am getting through Wolf Hall and I have Churchil, HIs Darkest Hour recording in preparation.

JudgeJ · 10/07/2021 19:51

@Shamoo

I got offered a free ticket to the game, but have turned it down to stay at home with my wife and two week old baby. Right decision but I’m a little bit sad!
But you have a lifetime of bragging rights to look forward to!
Eggshausted · 10/07/2021 19:52

I shall watch from home, may the best team win! I shall be having English strawberries drizzled with Italian Balsamic Vinegar reduction, so totally neutral snacks!

JudgeJ · 10/07/2021 19:52

@TheRosesOfSuccess

We're in 'Continental Europe'. Never come across the sentiment expressed by snoin. I can't imagine being so small minded as to hate an entire country. How ridiculous. Back to the OP's question, at home pacing the floor.
It's only acceptable on MN to hate England, any other country would get you into awful trouble!
FifiandPheli · 10/07/2021 19:55

At home in Wembley with DH and we will let DD stay up for as long as she can stay awake in her new England PJs.Smile We will watch with the patio doors open so we can hear the roars from the stadium - electric atmosphere here today already!

JudgeJ · 10/07/2021 19:56

@Zoorhik

I don’t care who wins. I hate the tribalism of competitive sports. I have never had a competitive bone in my body. I also can’t comprehend how people can get excited about kicking a ball around. As long as the match is fair, then the best team will win obviously.
You clearly do have competitive bones in your body otherwise why are you entering the Most Sanctimonious Post competition?

Continental Europe sounds to be the right place for you then!
Mabelene · 10/07/2021 20:02

Nowhere, thank goodness

Kottbullar · 10/07/2021 20:06

When is it on? I'll escape upstairs if DH puts it on, I couldn't watch a football match if my life depended on it!
I zone out when I go and watch the DC play and I end up looking at an ants nest or trying to identify the brand of someone's nice jacket Blush I've always said to DH they should scrap the 90 mins of running around and just do penalties, it would be much more engaging.
We're not in England and DH and the DC aren't English so there's not the same excitement here as there is elsewhere anyway.

Emmylou1985 · 10/07/2021 20:36

At home. DS is staying up late and my parents are coming over. No booze, just naughty snacks for my DF and DS and stupid healthy Slimming World friendly snacks for DM and I.

Justanotherlurker · 10/07/2021 20:50

You are wrong, I am currently in continetal Europe sitting on roof terrace, the spanish want England to win because of history, the local Germans dispite the island monkey jokes want us to win and the nordics around me also are rooting for and england win, I suspect the trap you have fallen into is that whilst you are sat on your terrace at a nice resort you are only seeing headlines from the European red-tops, but I suppose you trying to frame an all inclusive resort as being supperior to all those football supporters has made you feel smug.

Rosebel · 10/07/2021 21:00

We'll be at home, only watching it because DH insists. I threatened not to let him watch it after he woke our baby up Wednesday night with all his yelling.
I can't enjoy it. It's too stressful.

I'm pretty sure England doesn't like you either. Bitterness is such an ugly trait.
