I know not everyone will be watching but just interested to see the consensus.

I.e. at home, at a friends house or party, a fan zone, a pub, Wembley etc.

I'll either be at home or just going to a friends. There'd probably be a lot more in pubs if not for the restrictions. Having to book etc will put people off (and it being a Sunday night).

@ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba thanks. In that case I will probably be at home as need to get to bed for early start Monday.

lifehappened · 10/07/2021 13:18

@Zoorhik oh how original and superior you are

And stop saying 'it's coming home'. We've never won the euros, so I can't be coming home.....
IT'S COMING HOME IT'S COMING HOME IT'S COMING FOOTBALL'S COMING HOME!

This is an exciting sporting finals weekend Wimbledon, Coppa America 2021 Brazil versus Argentina and Euro 2020 finals in Wembley.

My prediction is England and Brazil winning on home ground. Come on England!

However if penalties in Wembley - we can assume if no lasers are involved - Italians may find the goal more confidently as it maybe coming Rome with Covid coming home.

More excited about the global South American superclasico to decide the 2021 champion - Brazil versus Argentina! Arguably probably the two best national teams of the world. Not sure about Covid as I am assuming the locals believe more in football than science perhaps because Jair Bolsonaro is one of the exceptional popularist political leaders to make Alexander Johnson look less reckless.

Brazil and Argentina will meet for the 34th time at the Copa America. Brazil won 10 games, Argentina won 15 and the rest of the games finished level. This is the eigth time they have played in Brazil and the hosts have never lost.

Stadium: Maracaná (Río de Janeiro) arguably the Mecca and global home of football
Date: Saturday 10 July 2021
Time: 21:00 Rio de Janeiro (00:00 GMT Saturday)

At home with ds (16).

He finishes swimming at 7.30pm so we will be getting home ASAP for kick off.

He's meant to swim 5am on Monday but we are hoping the coach cancels that 🤣🤣

I'm glad I saw this because I thought kick off was 6:30pm 🤦🏼‍♀️

I’m watching it in Scotland, so will be alone at home.
I have nothing but contempt for the “anyone but England” mentality of some of the more racist and unpleasant members of the Scottish fraternity, and I’m sick of their sour grapes over us reaching the final while they were knocked out.
When the situation was reversed - in ‘78, when Scotland were in the World Cup and England failed to qualify, all we English supported the Tartan Army without question, as a home nation. Just as we supported Murray at Wimbledon.
I think it speaks volumes as to our national character.

Fallulah · 10/07/2021 14:04

At home, surrounded by all our own drinks and snacks, with the windows open so we can hear everyone else watching it.

The videos of people in pubs shouting, grabbing and throwing their drinks all over each other have made me feel a bit ick. My other half is a die hard football fan and even he is put off going to a pub to watch it. Oh how things have changed!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 10/07/2021 14:06

Friends house. I need distraction. I was pacing up and down on my own at the semi, don’t want to do that again.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 10/07/2021 14:09

@girlmom21

kick off is at 8pm

Apart from foot ball originating here, it. was the football song from 1996 when England hosted the Euros, hence football, s coming home, why do some posters have to be so misreable on here they just can't help themselves 🙄🙄
Boohooyouho · 10/07/2021 14:11

I’ll be at work. In theory I should be able to watch the game in the mess room, but no doubt I’ll be driving a train for someone who has decided to call in sick so they can watch the game. Always the way.

Kipperandarthur · 10/07/2021 14:18

At home.
Dips and Pringles. Aperol Spritz. M & S Ultimate Burgers with buns, chips and salad at half time. Trifle for pudding.
Very excited.

LunaNorth · 10/07/2021 14:19

We’re going over to my sister’s place and we’re having pizza and strawberries and cream to honour each side!

Really looking forward to it.

@Zoorhik

I don’t care who wins. I hate the tribalism of competitive sports. I have never had a competitive bone in my body. I also can’t comprehend how people can get excited about kicking a ball around. As long as the match is fair, then the best team will win obviously.
What's the point of you posting on a thread specifically asking where will you be watching it then? Confused You won't be.
Steelesauce · 10/07/2021 14:33

At home, with my 2 boys (8 and 5). My 3 year old will hopefully be in bed! Football shirts are ready, the boys have requested a cheese board so that's all ready and gin is in the fridge! Its coming home ⚽️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

The boys really wanted to watch it in the pub but it will be too much I think, plus I have the little one. I've promised them we can watch a world cup match next year in a pub!

snoin · 10/07/2021 14:35

I don't ever watch football, but I will be making an exception, just this once.

I'll be supporting Italy. And I will be absolutely delighted and over the moon if England lose. It'll make my year.

girlmom21 · 10/07/2021 14:36

@snoin are you Italian?

snoin · 10/07/2021 14:38

@girlmom21

Nope.

notsusan · 10/07/2021 14:43

What a valuable contribution Hmm

In answer to the OP, at a friend's house.

Why so much malice then? It seems a bit dramatic.

FrankskinnerscRoc · 10/07/2021 15:03

I wish I could say Wembley, but I left it far too late to get affordable tickets. So I'll be at home, where I can scream & shout as much as I like. I cannot wait!
