Yes, absolutely. It doesn't suddenly become safe on an arbitrary date that Boris and his mate Javid decide.
I'm not against easing restrictions but I think we can't ignore the fact that cases are rising and hospitalisations are creeping up. Thankfully deaths are low, which is a big positive. The concern is Long COVID, we don't know anything about this yet - and some people seem to have been really adversely affected by this even if they only had a mild dose of COVID.
My friend's DH is double jabbed, and he contracted COVID at the weekend. I doubt he'll end up in hospital but he's really poorly with it.
I have loved not getting colds, viruses and other seasonal bugs - I've been well since last March. I'm sure that wearing a mask cuts down my exposure to viruses and germs. Certainly they're annoying at times but my health has been excellent. And then of course there's the risk to others, I'm not inadvertently breathing my germs over them.
I absolutely understand why people are sick of them but for me, there's no question that the benefits of wearing masks greatly outweighs the inconveniences. When COVID numbers drop to very low, I may reconsider. In Asia mask-wearing was the norm pre-COVID, so I don't see any reason to stop doing it.
What I've seen a lot of today is nastiness aimed towards people who have said they'll continue to wear a mask. I suspect there will be judgement towards people that wear masks, especially as time passes and it becomes less common.
