Will you continue to wear a mask when they’re no longer compulsory?

I can’t really decide how I feel about it- as a pregnant woman with a tendency to get a bit sweaty in the face on warm days, I would like not to have to wear one whenever I’m inside a building that isn’t my own home. And I’m double jabbed so not at much risk. But then you’ve got people from SAGE and the BMA saying we should keep wearing them, and I’d imagine they know a bit better than Sajid Javid whose background is in finance.

What do you think?

YABU- I’ll continue to wear a mask
YANBU - I won’t be wearing a mask anymore.

* I think its a bloody great idea to wear one on a train, I have spent many journeys desperatly trying not to breathe in some foul buggers snotty sneezing!*

And when covid is “controlled by vaccines” as you say, these people will still be doing this.

Yes at times i shall do

Not doubt there shall be a upturn in this decision soon from the government

In spaces that are recommended, yes, even had a meeting with one on this last week. I've no issue wearing them most places indoors though as the heat has hit, I've been taking them off pretty quickly once outside rather than wearing them between places as I did before & a few places inside recently were a struggle with the heat.

I found the heat has really affected my ability to wear a mask though it may be the heat is affecting my POTS more which affects everything and the mask just felt more obvious when I was getting lightheaded yesterday when out.

What about wearing one of those see through perspec visor face masks. I am dreading Monday

On the bus/tube and some shops.
I'll stop in the cinema if I can (generally I go when it's not busy).

People seem to have already stopped wearing them in the lift where I live. Which is the one place I wish everyone would wear one.

Absolutely yes in crowded places like supermarkets and public transport. It's a small step to protect others for those that are able to wear a mask.
Lived till v recently in a tropical country in Asia that's roasting hot all year, Everyone wore a mask all the time, heat didn't stop anyone like it seems to here.

Yep, absolutely.

I cannot wait to go food shopping tomorrow and not have to wear my mask. I'm a glasses wearer and it is so uncomfortable.

However I will continue to wear one in a medical environment. But that's it.

This is where I stand too. I'll wear one in a medical setting or a pharmacy. Otherwise, I'm done. I've worn one when expected since they became a requirement but now they're no longer mandatory I won't be voluntarily wearing one. If a shop has a problem with it then that's absolutely fine with me, their premises and their rules, I'll leave.

We’re currently on a city break in Liverpool. Saturday afternoon and evening were full of unmasked young adults. One of them got in a a small lift with us at the last minute. I said “have you given-up on masks already? The rules don’t change until Monday”. ‘Oh, is it Monday, he replied’ in an irritated tone. Due to the very small space in the lift and the hordes of unmasked people around, we were double masked, hoping that might provide us some protection for ourselves. Today, Monday, the party crowd have gone and (despite the legal position changing) most people we are seeing are wearing masks indoors (as we do) and some, even outside (we don’t unless passing through a crowd).

Medical settings or very crowded places I will wear one but that's it I'm done with masks.
