I was 37 with DS
Most of my friends had kids as a similar age as me so we were all young
I don’t know any older mums
Although my DS I think will be 46 when her DD is 18
But when her eldest 18 I think she was 38

Wow, 48 and 51.

Part of me thinks "wow, that's old, I was only 30 when I had DS1, how can it be..." and part of me thinks "Wow, that is SOON"
So... mixed feelings!

LadyWhistledownsPen · 06/07/2021 10:22

Im 51 with a 15 year old and it feels wrong now. He should be older. I should have more independence. I love him of course. But it felt right to have a baby at 36 but now at 51 i long for the responsibility to end

Bryonyshcmyony · 06/07/2021 11:27

I have a 15 year old and I'm 55 and love it.

Isn’t that just because it’s been 15 years though? You might have felt the same at 35 if you’d had him age 20?
Lweji · 06/07/2021 11:48

15 is a great age for them to become increasingly independent. Mine started asking to be left at home overnight at that age.
It works well for both of us (50 to his 16).

47 and 50

Onthegrid · 06/07/2021 12:26

I was 46 & then 48 both now in their 20s and I currently have an empty nest, although they may come back depending on post uni employment

This has worked for me and we had started to travel more before COVID but equally I would still be happy now to have mid to late teens but I don’t think I’d cope with primary aged at 50+
