AIBU to think this is workable?

Well, just about!

Desperately need extra ££ to fund last bits of a house renovation and the extra to cover for a garden studio. I currently work PT in the NHS in an admin position (2 days at home, 1 day in office) but have just been offered a 30hr nights role at Sainsbury's. My week would look like this.
Sunday 9pm-7am
Monday 8-4
Tuesday 8-4
Wednesday 8-4 then 9pm-7am
Thursday 9pm-7am
Friday - off
Saturday off
Sunday 9pm-7am again.

AIBU to think I can cram it all in as a short term solution? My 2 kids are at FT nursery and primary school, wraparound begins in September again so husband/me can drop from 7:30/8am.

@lockdownwithwhoresdrawers

The driving element would only be 2 mins at the end of the 9pm-7am shift, not at any other time. I do hear what you are all saying, plus the pm I received. I will reiterate that I wouldn't be considering this if I had another simple solution.
You’re not going to listen to anyone’s experience of working this type of pattern, it seems. Any driving / cycling is a bad idea. You can fall asleep in a split second. I’m unsure as to why you asked for advice/opinions, as it appears you will just go ahead and do it anyway. I genuinely hope that you get through it.

I think maybe do-able in the short term but it won’t be easy. Could you extend your lunch break and have a 2hr sleep for example? Depends how flexible and demanding your NHS job is too

I work a part management role in the NHS. If I found out a staff member was doing this I would certainly pull them up on it. Tbh I'd want to dismiss! You can't possible perform your role having just completed a night-shift elsewhere. But the NHS is notoriously hard to fire people! So you'll probably survive without getting fired. Mentally/physically not sure it's survivable though!

I'm going to speak to our bank tomorrow to see if there are any extra shifts going too. Obviously would prefer to stick to one employer if poss.

@lockdownwithwhoresdrawers

DH is worn out by the end of the week, he has a mild disability which makes working quite exhausting for him.
But it will be no good for your DC to have two exhausted parents.

Apologies having trouble loading posts so haven’t RTF.

This pattern of work is unsustainable. You risk under performing and losing both jobs.

There must be other options.

Can you extend your mortgage instead? Would your husband’s firm
Allow him to work overtime and sell back some holiday. Can you postpone your plans until the children are old enough for you to go FT? Is a soft loan from family possible?

I can absolutely borrow the money from friends and in laws but don't want to have to do that of course. Husband is also NHS with v limited flex
