Really? Absolutely grotesque behaviour.

And anyone suggesting rugby is more genteel, please give your head a wobble. The rugger bugger stereotype exists for a reason - or maybe getting obnoxiously drunk, smashing up pubs and singing misogynistic ditties to waitresses is okay when the middle classes do it?

I was talking about being at the actual games. I can assure you it feels far safer at a Rugby game, you know you take take your kids safely and there won't be any trouble. The fans from both sides sit happily together, no need to segregate. Oh and I've never seen any incidents of racism either at Rugby.

And for those who will shout it's a white only game err... try looking at the teams. About a third non white in current England team.

It used to be 75‰ privately educated in the England rugby team not so long ago. Not sure what it is now, but I'm sure they are trying to improve social diversity.

Fwiw, according to dd, the football boys at her uni are much nicer and more enlightened with women than the rugby boys who can be awful, she says.

@nyprincess

I think England fans do have a bad reputation, some deserved but they are the minority & most fans are fine. I like Gareth Southgate & would like him to be successful, but as someone from Scotland I can't bear to think England winning, not because they are English, but because the English media would make it unbearable to listen to. Its bad enough watching any match just now, as they always bring up something English. Most people I know feel the same. Nothing against England, just the media. So I am conflicted, good for Southgate, but bad for non English fans.
Well put www.dailystar.co.uk/tv/gmb-fans-mortified-kate-garraway-24442928 Kate Garraway likened the map on the Ukrainian strip to a 'stain' when speaking to the Ukrainian ambassador. Hmm I'm sure it was only 'bantz' eh Kate.
