@AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair

What's the connection, has you GP gone to Wembley?

This made me laugh Grin

WinterWeathercold · 30/06/2021 06:28

@bristolone

They aren't even wearing masks. It's a f*cking joke.

So many things we can't do and don't have access to.

Have to wear masks everywhere but at a football game.

You have never had to wear a mask outdoors Hmm

We're not back to normal at our practice as our waiting rooms cannot safely hold the usual amount of ill people to keep everyone safe.

Also, currently 2 out of the 8 GPs are Covid positive despite being fully vaccinated. It's very difficult but we are trying our best.

DrFoxtrot · 30/06/2021 12:39

I should mention that more than 50% of our appointments are face to face - and we are offering whatever suits a particular persons needs.

Toesies · 30/06/2021 13:03

All I know is that the nurses at my practice commented that, while nurses have been working with patients throughout, doctors are hoping to keep phone appointments and triage on the phone forever..

IfNot forever? Really? You're not over-exaggerating that?

The OP also over-exaggerated a bit too. Nothing to be ashamed about. Those at the the football were vaccinated and it was held in the open. Not ideal, but vastly different to a small, closed-in doctor's office full of vulnerable ill people.

How can you over exaggerate?
What is under exaggeration?

I saw my gp in may. Nothing which needed examining, but lack of privacy makes things awkward. Said same gp has been an absolute gem with me since March with regular appts.

ssd · 30/06/2021 20:05

Maybe im just unlucky with my gp practice then.

I actually think this system works better and hope it continues. I used to hate having to sit in a busy waiting room full of people coughing and moaning and appointments running late.

I've had a few appointments with gp and nurse during covid and each time was triaged by phone and told a time to come in for appointment and was seen straight away as soon as I arrived. I've also called about my daughter, which was diagnosed over the phone and prescription sent over to the pharmacist. Much better service.
