@Fairyliz i take my phone to the toilet as well..its ridiculous!

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 29/06/2021 20:39

@ssd

Did i say they did Simon? I've read your posts here before, you don't usually play silly beggars.
By starting a thread with the two things in the title of course you're saying they are connected, what other interpretation is there ? Confused
Coldwine75 · 29/06/2021 20:43

Bloody ridiculous, but its ok as its football.........sigh

Orpheline · 29/06/2021 20:47

Who are these people seeing GP's? Last time I even wanted to speak to mine, I was told that she'd phone me in 2 weeks time, which she did.

PartTimeLegend · 29/06/2021 20:50

@Lilypansy

Our GP surgery are now doing phone appointments, with photos uploaded where necessary. That's fine if it's a visible problem, but many conditions need a personal consultation. I think this is the way things will be in the future.
And people will die because of it.
Seesawmummadaw · 29/06/2021 20:50

I hate football but don’t see the connection. I wish I could!

I want to keep my GP, other staff and vulnerable patients safe so I’m happy to have phone appointments. On the two occasions that I’ve needed face to face appointments I was really impressed with how the surgery was coping.

Cherries590 · 29/06/2021 20:52

Plenty of facetious comments here. I completely agree with you, the health centre around my way is like a heavily guarded fortress

NakedAttraction · 29/06/2021 20:52

Its not convenient if you aren't somewhere you can just pick up the phone and talk

It’s still a lot more convenient than having to take time off work to get to the GP. I hope telephone appointments continue.

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 29/06/2021 20:53

At our practice you can only get a telephone appointment unless, like DS2, it's for things like height, weight etc.

zoemum2006 · 29/06/2021 20:55

I feel you OP. DD year is currently 10 days off school and a negative covid test won’t allow them back.

It’s galling to see everyone screaming all bunched up together.

ShitPoetryClub · 29/06/2021 21:06

I was triaged for a GP mental health appointment today. I've been allocated a tel consultation in 10 days time. It was working with active Covid patients for the whole of last year that has left me in this state.

PotassiumChloride · 29/06/2021 21:09

I saw my GP a few weeks back. She stuck her finger up my bum (for the avoidance of doubt, as part of the examination). Not very pleasant but I definitely saw her.

Freckers · 29/06/2021 21:20

Why are your points unrelated?

I like cereal but can't believe some people still play tapes in their car.

Freckers · 29/06/2021 21:21

But that's still nothing to do with people going to a football match and only an idiot would think otherwise.
ilovesooty · 29/06/2021 21:24

If you feel you're not getting a good service from your GP it has nothing to do with the football.

This is like that thread deleted the other day for similar ridiculous connection - though that one was abusive.

Sh05 · 29/06/2021 21:24

I know this is about football but I was thinking of Jo Konta not being able to play at Wimbledon because of contact with a positive case in her team.
wasn't it Micheal Gove who was contacted by test and trace but he didn't need to isolate because they were trialling something new where he can test daily and carry on with essential duties?

I've seen a GP.
ssd · 29/06/2021 22:00

Ive seen a gp too and i had to jump through hoops to do so.

Are people really just phoning their gps and getting an appointment to see them, like before??

I need to take time off work to allow a phone call from the gp between 2-4pm, for example. I work in retail and can't answer phones .

My friend has had 6 courses of antibiotics without being seen this year alone.

My ex has been diagnosed with ligament damage by a picture.

I'm happy I can finally get my antihistamines on prescription without the ridiculous need to be seen.

Seesawmummadaw · 29/06/2021 22:08

‘ I need to take time off work to allow a phone call from the gp between 2-4pm, for example. I work in retail and can't answer phones’

But you would have to take time off for a face to face appointment too. Am I missing something?

Yes but if you use conditioner you’ll be able to eat sushi.
sweetkitty · 29/06/2021 22:10

I totally agree. I have mental health problems as well as other chronic health problems which require heavy medication. The GP wants to speak to me regularly. So I phone up to ask for an appointment, she will phone you back at some point today, can you wait by your phone and make sure your like is clear. Err I am at work all day, I can’t just get up and leave then start talking about my personal issues in a corridor. They ring about 5 times if you miss it tough. I have been so low and anxious this year and really wanted to speak to someone as well.

The DC and I haven’t seen a dentist in almost 2 years either, they are still on emergencies only.

Macncheeseballs · 29/06/2021 22:15

Completely agree, surgeries should be back to normal if football is allowed, of course its all related

No, I book through the nhs app now. I can select either telephone or in person appointment. Had to wait about 10 days for in person, could have got a phone appointment the next day.
