Some of your responses going '27 comfortable with mum and dad' , '25 was saving for a deposit' don't realise how privileged you are and were and are missing the point... we didn't leave young by choice so stop being so braggy and disrespectful

Good lord do we really need people to start qualifying everything they say?

"I was 27 and comfortable with mum and dad but of course I recognise my privilege and have complete empathy with everyone who didn't have a family like mine or indeed a family at all etc etc etc"

OR

'I left when I was 17 because I was kicked out by my abusive parents and I have no family and nowhere to go and everyone who has a better life than me should watch what they are saying in case I get upset by it etc etc etc"

People are just saying what they did. You have no idea whatsoever about whether they "have checked their privilege" before posting.

Get a fucking grip

Themeparklover - it wasn’t my intention to disregard young and vulnerable people having to leave home, and I can fully comprehend the hardship involved. I was merely sharing my experience of other people’s surprise about staying at home til a later age.

Missing what point?

Why is anyone providing their own information automatically casting any kind of judgement on anyone else's situation?
