Where can I find decent quality chicken breaststroke

Tesco and Sainsburys chicken breaststroke seem to be pumped full of water which comes out when they're coked and it's disgusting

I am fed up with it, and it's beginning to be incredibly off putting!

Is waitrose or co op any better?
No M and S, asda, aldi, lidl, morrisons near us..

Your local butcher?

Butcher? Waitrose isn't any better in my experience (perhaps marginally but not worth the cost differential!)

DynamoKev · 27/06/2021 19:12

Swimming pool

Eleoura · 27/06/2021 19:13

Maybe at a swimming pool specilising in poultry!!! Smile

Just read the packet. It will say if there is added water in it. Generally organic, farm shop and sometimes butchers ones won't have added water.

WhyMeLord · 27/06/2021 19:14

Piper's farm online delivery, all their meat is really good

Sparklfairy · 27/06/2021 19:14

Maybe they have so much water if they didn't keep doing breaststroke?

notanotherusernameidea · 27/06/2021 19:14

You might be better off trying a duck?

HavelockVetinari · 27/06/2021 19:14

Namechangefun · 27/06/2021 19:16

Lol at the duck comment, local butchers (check their ratings as if it’s good people will review it) is generally good!

YoComoManzanas · 27/06/2021 19:16

Afraid you have to pay more for the decent stuff. Sainsburys have a woodland free range or organic options which are £5ish for 2 breasts.
Or local butcher.
You get what you pay for.

Soubriquet · 27/06/2021 19:20

Try the swimming pool

They are really good at the breaststroke there

PurpleyBlue · 27/06/2021 19:21

Tesco free range stuff is better than their standard stuff

Fruityfriday · 27/06/2021 19:23

I'd definitely try a butchers.

notanotherusernameidea · 27/06/2021 19:23

A more serious answer is muscle foods. It's from Poland unfortunately but never get any liquid out and it's still moist.

Killerqueen2244 · 27/06/2021 19:24

The sainsburys Taste the Difference and Norfolk Black are both lovely- breasts are always firm Grin and don’t have that slimy watery feel and they’ve never been dry when I’ve cooked them in different dishes. Well worth the high price.

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 27/06/2021 19:27

Are you a swimming teacher? How often do you type breaststroke that your auto-correct thinks that's what you mean? Grin

Oysterbabe · 27/06/2021 19:29

Breaststroke is pretty tricky with wings, that they are attempting it at all is impressive.

Good quality chicken breasts look so much better on live chickens walking round the farm and laying eggs. I watched a documentary about how hens were en masse slaughtered in the slaughter house, I've never eaten one since.
