If he and the other Tories tarnished with corruption hang on until the next election the party will be, if not ousted, seriously depleted due to electorate having been aggrieved by them - he and Boris will step down and sail off to lucrative pastures new while the rest of the party, the honest ones, there must be some, are stuffed.

Tony Blair only won because of the support in Scotland, with this gone I honestly can't imagine what the Tories could do which would cause them to lose the next election.

@Regulus my first thought when I saw the photo (before reading the article) was that it was a deep fake video. Clearly the lack of denial means it's not.

Now I'm just trying to work out who gains most from releasing it. I thought Boris, but I suspect Hancock will be kept around just long enough to make sure he can be held responsible for any more unpopular Covid decisions.

So then maybe Cummings, so that Boris has to take responsibility if anything goes wrong with the covid response from now on?

I honestly think BJ thought he needed Cummings to govern. He was the ideas guy, BJ was just the front man. That's why he kept him on despite all the outcry IMHO.

Musing further, I did think also think it a little strange that Mrs Hancock decided to take the dog for a walk this morning aware that there would be hordes of journalists outside her house. I think I’d have let it pee in the garden and it’s only a little dog.

I would love to think she cottoned onto Hancock’s cocky shenanigans and somehow got a camera in his office. What better revenge!

I think the video looks 'off' too. It just all seems so bizarre; from snogging in front of a camera to what must be the most awkward kiss I've ever seen.
