Matt Hancock affair

AIBU to be utterly peed off that another one of our Ministers - rather than devoting his time and effort to getting the country out of this mess - is busy carrying on with an aide (which he appointed at great expense to the tax payer) - aaaaaaag.

He certainly did for quite a while, @Wheretobuy

this is day one for Hancock

LakieLady · 25/06/2021 12:59

@ThanksIGotItInMorrisons

I just think most politicians, most people ‘in charge’ are liars cheats and/or thieves and nothing they do shocks me as I expect the absolute worst from them eventually.
Sociopaths, most of them. With huge egos that need to be constantly gratified.

@ScribblyBaller

He's thinking, if Cummings could brazen out the Barnard Castle debacle...
He was just checking his penis still worked. Grin
ScribblyBaller · 25/06/2021 13:00

Barnard Castle story broke in May 2020. Cummings didn't leave Downing Street until November.

I don’t know. In general, the outcome timeframe for conflicts like these is in months in the corporate world (where all these people are from), not days. So may be I am biased but we knew that Cummings is going to go as soon as the Bernard Castle issue came out. No way he was going to last.
newnortherner111 · 25/06/2021 13:01

@Blossomtoes Hancock's Half Hour was funny. Though there was tragedy in the personal life of Tony Hancock.

My point exactly. If a process like that starts at my company, it will take exactly six months to go through paper work (and god help anyone who tries to kick out a person like Cummings without proper work!).
newnortherner111 · 25/06/2021 13:02

Dominic Cummings did not leave because of visiting Barnard Castle, but because of a nickname for the now 3rd Mrs Johnson.

ScribblyBaller · 25/06/2021 13:03

Fair enough. And I'm sure Hancock would be an easier person to oust than Cummings.

jaundicedoutlook · 25/06/2021 13:03

My god, that arse clench was just eeeeewww…

He won't get fired. It will all be brushed under the carpet. These guys just do what we the hell they want and we sit here and let them. They know they are untouchable

Pazuzu · 25/06/2021 13:05

I wonder just how many of the people screaming from the roof tops for his head have followed the rules as scrupulously as they're expecting him to?

HeronLanyon · 25/06/2021 13:06

Listening to 1 o clock news. Fully struck me now how absolutely awful this is. I am sick to death of those supposed to be leading us through and out of this emergency continually breach the rules. It won’t make me breach them because I am guided by what science I understand and the necessity, societally for restrictions such as they are still.
Absolute disgrace.
I 100% think he should resign and hang his head in shame.

1AngelicFruitCake · 25/06/2021 13:06

I can’t understand why everyone piles on Matt Hancock, when it’s Boris Johnson who is ultimately in charge and has no morals!

LakieLady · 25/06/2021 13:07

@beguilingeyes

I still can't believe Johnson got away with the Jennifer Arcuri affair. He's got a wife at home fighting cancer and he's shagging this woman and inviting her on all sorts of official trips that she shouldn't have been near...and on top of that he gave her £126,000 of taxpayers money!

And yet...tumbleweed.

That's the Tory press for you.

If we had decent media in this country, that story would have had a much higher profile.

Mind you, I bet Private Eye will get an amusing cover out of this, at least. And while it disgusts me, it's given us a few laughs at least.

He’s the foolish cheating scapegoat and this sways public opinion against him and takes the heat off the rising cases for a few days.

Look over here!! 🤡🤹🏼

Ilovelove · 25/06/2021 13:10

I think a few things:

  1. My sympathy to his wife for being dragged into something she neither wanted nor asked for.
  2. Well he's no looker with not much charm or charisma- so how did he get two such beautiful women to fall for him.
  3. This does matter and he should get fired. It's not personal when you are publicly setting the rules for a country.
Sceptre86 · 25/06/2021 13:11

I feel for his wife and children. The man is a weasel and lord only knows how he managed to attract more than one woman. Someone has it in for him though, that much is clear.

@Pazuzu

I have. I haven’t cheated on my husband and I haven’t appointed my lover (that I don’t have) to a post with no regard for correct procedure. I’ve got on with doing my job properly. The odd breach of social distancing isn’t really the same as throwing more tax payers money at whoever the health Secretary is dragging this week

He was making the rules, he condemned others for not following the rules, the rules should apply to him and he should go. I haven't had an affair during the lockdown, do I get a prize?

Ilovelove · 25/06/2021 13:14

RE Boris

Surely we all are so resigned to the fact that the man has no moral compass and is completely out for himself has meant that he has manipulated the bar being so low for himself he gets away with anything. For others, we still hold out some hope for integrity.

IheartJKR · 25/06/2021 13:14

@Douchebaggette

Whilst I can see it's problematic to feel sorry for Gina I can't help feel some empathy. Afterall, over the last year, haven't we all been totally and utterly fucked by Matt Hancock...
This and “ MH looks like a freshly wanked cock”. Grin
