AIBU to be utterly peed off that another one of our Ministers - rather than devoting his time and effort to getting the country out of this mess - is busy carrying on with an aide (which he appointed at great expense to the tax payer) - aaaaaaag.

Amersham and Chesham result due to Planning issues - I don't think it's just that ........

I can assure you it definitely wasn't that. That's the messaging the Tories have been putting out Wink

It was ALL about corruption and Covid.

TotorosCatBus · 25/06/2021 10:45

Yesterday I was reading that Boris wanted to meet the Queen in person at the start of the pandemic but had to be told not to just in case he was responsible for her death. Confused DC is not the only person gunning for MH

I feel very sorry for the spouses and children. I don't think that this will end in a resignation since giving taxpayer money to friends (affair partners) and having affairs are considered acceptable

DoctorSnortles · 25/06/2021 10:46

Poor Mrs Hancock. Sad

leli · 25/06/2021 10:47

Slime ball. End of. Toast. Poor, poor wife, my heart goes out to her.

MrsBunHat · 25/06/2021 10:47

No not really, I genuinely have no idea! But as you say, who knows!?

We've had a long string of opposition party leaders (not just labour, all of them) who really seem to not have much to say about astonishingly crap Tory failings - or not in a way that grabs attention and makes people wake up. It's bizarre.

Sparklingbrook · 25/06/2021 10:47

Bit of an unfortunate ad when I viewed the pic.

I'm sure you are right, although the planning issue shouldn't be underestimated. Around here we have a Troy MP and Tory LA and have had for years.

We are swamped with new build housing but we've had fuck all transport improvements, you can't get a GP appointment or a school place and the Police have vanished. Even dyed in the wool Tories must be asking what the fuck is going on.

Ostara212 · 25/06/2021 10:48

@Lemons1571

Johnson and Cummings really want him out don’t they. He’s the fall guy for everything. Boris will also retire imminently as he will make far more money by public speaking than he would as PM, with none of the responsibilities of an irritating pandemic. DC will predictably slide back in next to Rishi Sunak. And no one would ever guess this was the cunning plan all along Grin
I hear a rumour Johnson was enjoying himself now and planned to carry on for ages

Terrifying

Have some people changed their mind about risks/law after this news?

I can't gauge whether it's good news or not.

SueSaid · 25/06/2021 10:48

'Cummings has never been elected. He comes back like an unflushable turd, promising his slimy services to a series of frontmen whom he first makes then breaks when they stop obeying him. I have no liking for Hancock, no sympathy for him over the affair or over precious government funds handed out to (fuck) buddies, and also no desire to forward Cummings' latest slippery scheme.'

I'm the same. We all being played by a bitter and resentful Cummings. I have no sympathy for MH but can't get worked up over an affair, unsavoury as it is. I'm more bothered by people leaking this stuff and what their agenda is.

Pottedpalm · 25/06/2021 10:49

@Pinchmybun

To all those posters who cite that it’s a non story/ private affair or they couldn’t care less really should be disgusted with themselves.

Try telling that to the face of someone who has lost a relative, lover or friend in this Covid disaster. Look them in their grieving eye and tell them you don’t care. You don’t care about their tragedy, their loss, their now orphaned children etc. Cause that’s what you mean when you say these things.

At the very least as a country we expected that the person put in charge of fighting this horrific pandemic had full focus and was giving it his all. Instead in the very offices used to discuss beating Covid he’s acting like a teenager snogging and groping his bit on the side. It’s disgraceful, it’s disrespectful to those who shouldn’t have died in this pandemic due to his failures and their relative and I am for one really appalled at anyone who would think otherwise.

For anyone who has lost a relative due to Covid and is really angry and hurt by this revelation today: I’m so sorry for you’re loss and I feel your pain. I hope the British public do the right thing and pile pressure on Hancock to resign.

Mawkish over simplification.

Not really their fault - the press and media is majority Tory owned and Tory supported. It is really hard to break through into a mainstream message when they put you and your party down at every chance.

I’m in the minority of not giving a flying fig about politician’s private lives. Not a fig.

If they do the job well, then I’m happy

And I think Hancock has done a decent job considering the utter enormity of the task he faced.

I realise this is a still but it's very not passionate.

Have people forgotten how to do a proper office pash sesh?

Blossomtoes · 25/06/2021 10:51

Poor Mrs Hancock. Sad
Mrs Hancock might be absolutely delighted. She might have been wanting rid for years, now she can get shot and take him to the cleaners. I hope she does.
Sparklingbrook · 25/06/2021 10:51

It doesn't scream massively compatible animal sex to me really. Grin Is he really only 42?

I don't care either

But he is a power hungry maniac, see Hansard 30th January.

No point if an equally meglomaniac type comes in his place though, giving all the contracts to their mates.

Everyone can watch PMQs. The media have supported labour in the past - it can be done. Also although I agree there is bias, that's not an excuse for opposition leaders not to do the clear, loud holding to account that is their job.

PinusSylvestris · 25/06/2021 10:52

I agree Pinchmybun.

MrsBunHat · 25/06/2021 10:53

Ew maybe they did but they had to not choose x-rated stills for release. They are probably in someone's grubby mitts!

TheoMeo · 25/06/2021 10:53

I'm sure you are right, although the planning issue shouldn't be underestimated. Around here we have a Troy MP and Tory LA and have had for years.
The constituency was discussed on radio 4 and, sorry I can't quote as I can't remember it all, it was just a short comment, but apparently Am and Chesh had 100 new build houses compared to many times that in other localities. So if I've got that right it def wasn't planning.

I take it you didn’t lose anyone?
Because those have have had, I can tell you do not think that those who think it’s a non story also don’t care about our loss

Don’t be daft and simplistic

Pinchmybun · 25/06/2021 10:54

He literally sent covid positive patients to care homes, causing god knows many deaths

We literally have one of the highest deaths rates despite the harshest lockdown

Decent job?

snowballer · 25/06/2021 10:55

Just when I think I can't hate this government any more, another cabinet minister always pulls a new rabbit from the hat. WTAF is wrong with this morally bankrupt shambles?

I heard Rory Stewart on R4 this morning sounding every bit like an intelligent statesman. I'm no Tory but I can't help feel life would look pretty different if he'd won the leadership contest.

Fuck them all.

TotorosCatBus · 25/06/2021 10:56

I hear a rumour Johnson was enjoying himself now and planned to carry on for ages

Didn't Cummings tell the inquiry that Boris was planning to quit within 2 years of the next General Election?
