AIBU to be utterly peed off that another one of our Ministers - rather than devoting his time and effort to getting the country out of this mess - is busy carrying on with an aide (which he appointed at great expense to the tax payer) - aaaaaaag.

People need to come to terms with the fact that ministers don't give a shit and as far as they are concerned, they are above the rest of us and can do exactly as they please.

eddiemairswife · 25/06/2021 09:38

You'd think they would avoid canoodling within camera range.

the80sweregreat · 25/06/2021 09:40

His wife looks a decent sort too.
It is sad, I know it happens all the time , but part of me feels disappointed when it's people in the public eye. Especially for those that have been cheated on. It's the humiliation I couldn't deal with personally , knowing that people are speculating about you and your marriage , not to mention those photos.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 25/06/2021 09:40

How did the Sun get cctv footage (that’s what it looks like and they mention it’s a video) inside the department of health?

No doubt the same way they get so much else - from contacts paid to tip them off

They have plenty of lawyers to deal with any legal kickback, and I doubt Cock will sue anyway for fear of what else they may have on him

IChatShit · 25/06/2021 09:40

Prob not thinking with his brain at that point!

Onlinedilema · 25/06/2021 09:40

I doubt he will lose his job.
It doesn't shock me at all.
I'm no fan of this government but to be honest it is hardly a rare occurance is it.
I started to think he was a bit odd with his crying malarkey on TV.
There are far uglier less desirable men who managed to have affairs.

HolidayAtHome · 25/06/2021 09:41

Unfortunately the millions who voted for Johnson will not care about this type of behaviour, may even make MH more man of the people (worked for BJ). Plus is this to distract from something else: school yeargroup closures, getting barred from eu travel etc

SueSaid · 25/06/2021 09:41

@eddiemairswife

Yes. How glaringly stupid. I mean people have affairs we all know that but for someone with such a responsible job not to have known he was on camera does make you wonder what other stuff he didn't realise 🙄.
Eskarina1 · 25/06/2021 09:42

According to one article, she works as a Director for a lobbying firm specifically selling expertise on the inner workings of government and has attended confidential meetings.

MissGendered · 25/06/2021 09:42

He was obviously just checking to see if his sense of taste had come back.

OhWhyNot · 25/06/2021 09:42

Do we really want to make ourselves believe that sex and work doesn’t overlap

Do you think people can’t separate work and emotions it’s goes on everywhere.

If you want to believe this doesn’t happen then fine but put people together and some will starting having sex regardless of their work/marital status/political stance/public image

He isn’t there to set an example for married men married men make their choices as do married women

Henio · 25/06/2021 09:43

@musicalfrog

My god. There are TWO women willing to snog him and he found them both? What are the chances. Confused
😂😂😂
herecomesthsun · 25/06/2021 09:43

If you didn't vote Tory - yeah that's what they're like innit.

If you did vote Tory - what did you expect?

SueSaid · 25/06/2021 09:44

'How did the Sun get cctv footage (that’s what it looks like and they mention it’s a video) inside the department of health?'

Cummings will be mwah ha ha'ing as we speak.

Feel so sorry for Hancock's family, what an utter humiliation.

earthyfire · 25/06/2021 09:44

The only people I feel sorry for is his wife and children. Can't stand his smugness.

wowhie · 25/06/2021 09:44

You'd think they would avoid canoodling within camera range.

This certainly makes me question his judgement & intelligence.

Onlinedilema · 25/06/2021 09:44

I've known plenty of women get promoted for fucking the boss, happens all the time.

SueSaid · 25/06/2021 09:46

'If you want to believe this doesn’t happen then fine but put people together and some will starting having sex regardless of their work/marital status/political stance/public image'

Yes but not groping on cctv. Surely, surely in high powered Westminster checking for cctv is basic?!

Whichjab · 25/06/2021 09:46

It does feel a bit convenient, the pictures look awkward.

Maybe MH thought it better to resign due to 'manly indiscretions ' than as someone responsible for 1000's deaths?

**Are there any Tory MPs who haven't had affairs?'
Gove?

Paddy Ashdown , John Prescott and let’s not mention Eric Joyce !!!!**

The question was, are there any Tory MPs who haven’t had affairs? I hope you’re being tongue in cheek, as those MPs aren’t Tory. Confused

FYI, though, Paddy Ashdown was caught having an affair back during his days as Lib Dem leader.

herecomesthsun · 25/06/2021 09:47

@Anycrispsleft

To say I'm no fan of the current tories would be quite the understatement. But I felt sorry for Hancock, a man who had obviously been promoted not on the basis of any talent or experience but on the basis of his willingness to pretend that he thought Brexit was a good idea, and could never have predicted that he was going to end up handling a crisis that would have tested even the abilities of a health secretary who knew what they were doing. I always thought he looked quite haunted in his interviews. I thought he probably sometimes zones out and remembers that tens of thousands of people have died, alone and before their time, on his watch. Turns out that when his eyes glazed over he was probably thinking back to his last resignation with his bit on the side?
no, when he zones out he is thinking "La la la... that bloke was called Shakespeare ha ha ha... la la la... what figures can I make up now.... it's not fair, no one told me there was going to be a pandemic when I was offered this job... la la la... what other chums can I appoint to something... la la la... and I'm not hopeless? Am I?... la la la"
AuldReekieCreakymemory · 25/06/2021 09:48

@PicsInRed

This reminds me of the revenge scene in Braveheart.

Boris quivers alone in his castle, knowing, KNOWING, that Dom's coming for him next. Bagpipes

This really made me giggle Grin
Backhills · 25/06/2021 09:48

@IChatShit

Let's not do that to women

she is a cheat, its the wife I feel sorry for, NOT the OW

We have no idea about either of their home situations, but regardless, we don't automatically assume any man who has an affair isn't capable of an important job.
herecomesthsun · 25/06/2021 09:48

Gove and Vine are supposed to be swingers (according to Mumsnet)
