AIBU to be utterly peed off that another one of our Ministers - rather than devoting his time and effort to getting the country out of this mess - is busy carrying on with an aide (which he appointed at great expense to the tax payer) - aaaaaaag.

I just can’t believe anyone would want to sleep with Hat Mancock Envy not envy

ancientgran · 25/06/2021 09:16

@Movinghouseatlast

I don't care about sex.

I care that this has been made public by someone. Who? Why? That is a huge issue.

I care about the cronyism. It is shocking, and even more shocking how many people bloody accept it.

And I care about his wife being publicly humiliated.

I wonder who is behind this? My money is on Johnson.

Could be anyone. Could be Cummings, could be someone from govt who are working on a way to get rid of him, could be someone working in the department, apparently they all knew, they might have felt upset that they were working hard and this pair were spending worktime messing about, maybe people resented her being brought in and it is actually aimed at her not him. We might find out one day or we might not.

I feel sorry for his wife and her husband not to mention the six children involved.

Frazzled2207 · 25/06/2021 09:17

@OhWhyNot

I feel sorry for his wife being so publicly humiliated but I really don’t care who people are having sex with if they are consenting adults it’s their business

I have no sympathy for MH but I don’t like that all the blame is so obviously been put on him and deflected away from the PM

Boris Johnson isn’t going anywhere yet he can still milk being the vaccine saviour

How many times have I read on here Boris will resign soon

you should care if the person in question has been so blatantly breaking the rules that he keeps banging on about. When Prof Neil Ferguson (sage guy) was having an affair at the height of lockdown MH went on record as saying his behaviour was unacceptable. This is hypocrisy of the highest order. Barnard Castle all over again.
IheartJKR · 25/06/2021 09:17

I do believe it affects his job though?
How can he be focussed at work if he’s stealing kisses and intimate moments with a workmate in secret?

And the video is only what we have seen… how many stolen moments have their been. Meetings scheduled in his calendar when he was with his affair partner etc

I really hope his wife finds the strength to kick him out.
I really don’t think I could face watching a widely show of solidarity. MH does not deserve any loyalty from his wife.

Womencanlift · 25/06/2021 09:18

We have this all wrong…. This was an official TEST affair. Before entering the corridor they had to show evidence of either two vaccinations or a negative test Hmm

ancientgran · 25/06/2021 09:18

@LucindaT73

I think doing this in paid time at work is no different to theft, he was taking our money and spending his time with this woman instead of doing the work he was paid for, the same goes for her.

Totally ridiculous comment.

Just how much 'time' out of his day do you think was missing because of this kiss?

Oh right so the whole department were gossiping about them on the basis of one quick kiss? I don't think so, with that level of interest I would say a fair bit of time was being wasted.

HR manager until retirement and I base that one disciplinaries I've investigated.

TheVolturi · 25/06/2021 09:18

Slimy little creep, it does not surprise me.

Petalplucker · 25/06/2021 09:18

@JellyTumble

YABU. It makes him an awful person but it doesn’t (and shouldn’t) affect his job.

It’s nobody’s business but his wife’s.

I would normally agree with this but during a global pandemic one would have thought that the Health Secretary would have little time for extra curricular activities... .
Backhills · 25/06/2021 09:18

@sadperson16

So pretty much everyone has abandoned a quaint and outmoded idea that those in positions of power(particularly those who lecture us) should adhere to some basic morality and decency?

Morality and decency being 'I'm married,I'm a family man.I promised to be faithful when I undertook this'

When did you think this actually happened? How far back is 'oldfashioned"? Churchill had at least one affair.
Tanith · 25/06/2021 09:18

I don't think I've been so nauseated since I heard about John Major and Edwina Curry - a liason my imagination still baulks at. 🤢

Though it pales into insignificance when you consider the antics of his philandering boss...

IheartJKR · 25/06/2021 09:18

*wifely

Horehound · 25/06/2021 09:19

For people saying DC is at the helm of this ..he isn't there any more, how would he be able to plan this?!

the80sweregreat · 25/06/2021 09:19

How anyone can condone this behavior is beyond me really!
It might have been different if it had been a hotel lift or Lobby outside work that has captured this , but to carry on inside the department you work for beggars belief , but obviously I'm old fashioned! Didn't they worry they might get caught out ?
No I won't 'get a grip ' thanks!!
Bloody cheek for expecting my tax payers money to go to people to do a job , not conduct affairs at bloody work !

DrManhattan · 25/06/2021 09:19

He should quit, but he won't as he's got no integrity.

OhWhyNot · 25/06/2021 09:19

I really don’t think him having an affair at work made him less competent

He was way out of his depth and others are happily letting him be the fall guy that’s the real issue the deflection his affair is an issue for those personally involved not the public who really cares who he is having sex with

AlternativePerspective · 25/06/2021 09:20

So do people really think that his wife deserved to find out like this?

When was the first time she knew do you think? When the tabloid journo’s showed up outside her door for comment?

Anyone who thinks this should have been made public knowledge in the way that it has needs to have a long hard look at themselves and ask exactly what it is they’re condoning.

Morally an affair is wrong, but humiliating the cheater’s wife and children in the tabloids in order to boost sales is far, far worse.

And Rupert Murdoch must be rubbing his hands together at the extra sales given the sun was only last week valued at £0.

Mmm, best interests of the country my arse.

IdblowJonSnow · 25/06/2021 09:21

@doubleshotespresso

Ha ha, hands face my place made me laugh.

Imo he deserves to be sacked but really he is no better or worse than any of the others. And will only be replaced by another dishonest, corrupt sleazebag. So in reality it makes little difference.

BigGreen · 25/06/2021 09:21

Ugh, gross. How TF did he have time for an affair?! Clearly not focussed on his job if he was shagging his employee. This govt are just rotten to the core.

ancientgran · 25/06/2021 09:21

I agree, the stolen moments add up. Not to mention that affairs tend to cause unrest in the team, there will be people who have met his wife and kids and won't appreciate being put in a position where they know what is going on, possibly the same with her husband and kids. There might be people who have had partners who've had affairs and feel upset to witness it, and it sounds like staff have walked in on them more than once.

There is a reason why many employers will move one partner if a relationship starts, even if it isn't an affair.

ginandbearit · 25/06/2021 09:21

Blimey...power really is an aphrodisiac....he still looks like a gormless sub prefect ...what was she thinking?

Brefugee · 25/06/2021 09:22

You may disapprove of what someone does, from a moral viewpoint, and make a judgement of them accordingly.

Nah. The Tory party is conservative. They are supposed to be the party of the family. During Thatcher's time there was a lot of this, including at least one child as a result. Back then we used to say "Tories love families do much, that's why many of them have 2"

So it should be an issue alongside nepotism and having an affair actually in the workplace. (ew!)

Not least because it's breaking the current rules

the80sweregreat · 25/06/2021 09:22

Ok, Churchill and Boris had affairs , we can all reel off many MPs and ministers from all parties who had had it away , but this was under everyone's noses at work !
They were clearly completely unfazed at the fact they could have been caught.

mustlovegin · 25/06/2021 09:22

What are they distracting us from

Let's not get into conspiracy theories territory now, please...

I agree with a PP, this is his wife's business, no one else's

SilverGlitterBaubles · 25/06/2021 09:22

Have no doubt that this was released by Johnson, remembering that the new Mrs Johnson is a former lover of the Suns Harry Cole. Johnson knows that the Delta variant has scuppered 'freedom day' and any return to travel abroad as no country will want to let us in. Decision to throw Hancock under a bus to create a media frenzy as a major distraction from his own utter incompetence.

Iwonder08 · 25/06/2021 09:23

He is utterly useless, but as far as I am concerned he can shag whoever he wants. It has nothing to do with the general public. Really none of our business
