Errr..........he was at work. In the corridor. I'm sure that kissing someone for a minute is not going to impact that much on his day's work.

Hancock never apologises for any mistakes and will probably deny the affair. His poor wife and children.

The affair was conducted on work time and she was given taxpayer money for a role that people questioned because she was also a lobbyist and was given high level access. It stinks. But this is also very convenient for the Prime Minister who can force him to resign or sack him over this but not over the handling of covid. It seems like Hancock’s affair was common knowledge in Whitehall, so why only now is it coming out?

But MH has put himself in this position, as well as a few others if the photo is anything to go by.

But unless the affair is impinging directly on their ability to work, and that's hard to prove, it's none of our business.

It’s certainly impinging on his ability to tell other people what to do during a pandemic with any credibility when he’s not following his own rules.

Lucinda if the affair partner is being paid with our money, then it is a fair question whether she was hired for her professional skills or her personal ones.
And if he's snogging her in the office, then his attention isn't fully on his job during the working day. But that's okay, not like there's anything important going on!

I feel really sorry for his family (and hers). So arrogant to behave like this in a place where they can be seen by others - if they aren't worrying about the harm their behaviour causes to their own families, they aren't going to be worried about other people's families. That doesn't bode well for a government minister.

How can he deny an affair ?

Feel sorry for his wife and children, not for him at all. He won’t face repercussions for something Boris has been doing for years, including the time his ex wife was going through chemotherapy.

Affairs at work tend to irritate colleagues and cause resentments too. It's just unprofessional.

I think you are being unreasonable in your post wording to suggest that he should be have been spending 100% of his time managing the pandemic and should not have any time for leisure or relationships.

However this was not the relationship he should have been spending his time on and is obviously an arse for conducting an affair behind his wife’s back, I expect he will resign shortly.

What I meant was he should have been at work working , not conducting affairs in the corridors.

YABU. It makes him an awful person but it doesn’t (and shouldn’t) affect his job.

I don't see and never have how what someone does in bed and with whom has any bearing on how they do their job.

You may disapprove of what someone does, from a moral viewpoint, and make a judgement of them accordingly.

They are in his office, they were at work, they were taking our money to work, he told us he was working 24/7 on the pandemic but he obviously had some time to spare.

I think doing this in paid time at work is no different to theft, he was taking our money and spending his time with this woman instead of doing the work he was paid for, the same goes for her.

I have no sympathy for MH but I don’t like that all the blame is so obviously been put on him and deflected away from the PM

If those conducting an affair are indiscreet enough to carry on AT WORK then of course it's unprofessional as it does affect other working relationships.
