AIBU to only fancy Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Orlando Bloom as Legolas?

I am not even slightly interested in either of them in anything else or in actual life. In fact I would say they are a turn OFF in real life interviews when I’ve come across them.

But as those characters - absolutely

YANBU. I don't fancy either of those two at all, but I recognise the concept with other actors.

SquatBetty · 23/06/2021 13:38

Fuck yes - very specifically Hiddles as Loki in the black suit from Thor Ragnarok. If he turned up on my doorstep looking like that, I would actually leave my two primary school aged children and run off with him.

MartyHart · 23/06/2021 13:45

Matthew McConaughey but only as Rust in True Detective. In everything else he's cheesy.

SisterMichael · 23/06/2021 13:55

Daddy Malfoy Grin

I disagree on Jason Isaacs, he’s hot in most things - Malfoy, Zhukov in Death of Stalin, Jackson Brodie etc

The man looks good in a suit. Hence the enjoyableness of The Night Manager (which dh insisted on referring to as 'In The Night Manager with Iggle Piggleston Hmm).

Rach000 · 23/06/2021 14:01

I knew it wouldn't be long till someone mentioned Cillian in Peaky blinders! He is amazing as Tommy.

lazylinguist · 23/06/2021 14:02

Agreeing with everyone here, but can let you in on what I realised a few years ago in that these characters are all so attractive because they are aloof, charismatic, and totally emotionally unavailable - we are all doomed! :D

Yup, cold-eyed, sharp-suited, emotionally unavailable. See also Sherlock.

Camomila · 23/06/2021 14:05

And Spok in the new Star Trek films.

Bellasblankexpression · 23/06/2021 14:09

Thought of another one which makes no sense to me but I can’t help it - Adam Driver as Kylo Ren only.

(not in a good way). I definitely prefer cold, sharp-suited and emotionally unavailable to angry, greasy, whiny emo moper. Grin

Bellasblankexpression · 23/06/2021 14:15

@lazylinguist 😂

Also, agree about Aragorn when he’s all cleaned up - hard no

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 23/06/2021 14:17

Channing Tatum in Magic Mike.

It’s such a cliche Blush. I’m not a fan of anything else he’s done and don’t find him attractive generally but god in that film, the moves, the rhythm, the body, the dimples. I’m totally sold.

Snaketime · 23/06/2021 14:18

I do this a lot. There are so many characters I love but am not even remotely interested in the actors. YANBU.

lazylinguist · 23/06/2021 14:18

All neatly coiffed and droning singing Shock in a robe that looks like a velour dressing-gown. Horrifying.

Bellasblankexpression · 23/06/2021 14:23

@lazylinguist I know. I sat through all those films only to be rewarded with that horror? Get to fuck, Aragorn. Dirty yourself up immediately

The next time I get irritated by people spouting nonsense on MN, and start to worry about where all the common sense has gone, I'm coming back to this thread to remind myself that there are smart,
perceptive people on here with EXCELLENT taste, who are just so right about things. So, so right.

Legolas. Aragorn. The Witcher. Spike. Snarly Alan Rickman. Yep. Very much yep.

MissLucyEyelesbarrow · 23/06/2021 14:26

Alan Rickman in almost anything, but not Truly, Madly, Deeply, which I secretly found really tedious.

PhloxOfSheep · 23/06/2021 14:27

@Geamhradh I'm obviously going to have to rewatch all three LOTR films now to see if that's true. I rather hope it is. Legolas' majesty does not need to be sullied by having him standing around waffling with wet lettuce Frodo.

Bellasblankexpression · 23/06/2021 14:41

@PhloxOfSheep this is a safe and happy place 😄 and yes I want to do the same. Frodo IS such a wet lettuce isn’t he? Drives me bananas

Kiki275 · 23/06/2021 14:42

What is everyone's opinion on James Marsden?
Totally did nothing for me as an X-man... but as Corney Collins in Hairspray, singing & dancing although not too different in appearance, I definitely took notice x

PhloxOfSheep · 23/06/2021 15:03

@Bellasblankexpression Very much so. A wet lettuce wet-lettucing his way around the world being pointless. Give me a chap who can walk on top of the snow while everyone else ploughs through it at hip height any day.

Now THAT’s an in the night garden Id be up for….

Most men in suits look good to be honest…

Lemonyfuckit · 23/06/2021 15:10
@HereIfYouNeedMe another excellent shout. I can appreciate his beauty in other things but I don’t intensely crush on him the way au do Tommy Shelby. I think it’s the menace combined with the outfits
Yes this.

Lemonyfuckit · 23/06/2021 15:15

@FunTimes2020

Russell Crowe ONLY as Maximus in Gladiator 😍
I like him as Robin Hood but ONLY as Robin Hood.
Lemonyfuckit · 23/06/2021 15:19

At the risk of massively missing the point of the thread, could I please add James McAvoy in anything. Literally anything, not seen anything yet in which he isn't sexy as hell, and I'm including Mr Tumnus there.
