AIBU to only fancy Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Orlando Bloom as Legolas?

I am not even slightly interested in either of them in anything else or in actual life. In fact I would say they are a turn OFF in real life interviews when I’ve come across them.

But as those characters - absolutely

OP posts:
Harrydresdenssidekick · 23/06/2021 09:44

Spike in Buffy/Angel
David Boreanaz in Bones ans Seal Team
Han Solo
Luther but only in Luther
Luke Cage
The winter soldier.
I definitely need to get out more. Grin

Harrydresdenssidekick · 23/06/2021 09:48

Btw thank you OP I love this thread.

It's so cheering and light hearted.

Ps Forgot Sean as Sharpe

NarcissaMalfoysManicure · 23/06/2021 09:50

I seem to have a thing for "nice actors but only when they're playing absolute bastards". Alan Rickman, David Tennant, Jason Isaacs... I'm not interested until they stick on a snarl and then HELLO.

magicstar1 · 23/06/2021 10:01

Oooh I love this thread.

Aragorn certainly...but only up to the part where he gets cleaned up. He looks like a completely different person!
Russell Crowe in Gladiator is just gorgeous.
Colin O'Donoghue only as Hook.
I can't stand Henry Cavill, but in The Witcher he was phwoarrrrr

Alexander Dreymon as Uhtred of Bebbanburg in The Last Kingdom. OMG....but he's just not the same in anything else.

NeedNewKnees · 23/06/2021 10:02

Jason Isaacs as Hook is to die for, but then he did it again in Death Of Stalin

Sean Bean as Sharpe - Yes please!
Richard Armitage in North and South
Hook in Once, reminding me how much I love a man in eyeliner
Nathan from Haven, no idea why
Aidan Turner in Being Human
Spike
Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park

NeedNewKnees · 23/06/2021 10:03

Forgot one:
Seth Green, but only as Oz in Buffy

DarceyDashwood · 23/06/2021 10:28

Tom Hardy but ONLY when he is reading Cbeebies Bedtime Stories 😂

Quartz2208 · 23/06/2021 10:29

Yep its definitely the character, a lot are funny reformed/possibly still bad boys

With eyeliner and leather

DarceyDashwood · 23/06/2021 10:30

Also I have to take issue with Harrison Ford but only as Indiana Jones. What about Han Solo???

EmeraldShamrock · 23/06/2021 10:31

I feel the same about Chris Hemsworth/Thor.

Genderwitched · 23/06/2021 11:20

Also Harrison Ford in Bladerunner

SpacePotato · 23/06/2021 11:21

@EmeraldShamrock

I feel the same about Chris Hemsworth/Thor.
I didn't look twice at him as Thor until he cut his hair and lost an eye Grin
DancesWithTortoises · 23/06/2021 11:24

Correct in both cases.

Also Johnny Depp as Captain Sparrow.

Aiden Turner as Kili - less so as Poldark
@Trudij123
DD and I watched Full Monty at the weekend (she's 17 and I've been introducing her to my "no idea why, they just are" comfort food films and, not coincidentally, men. When it started, and they were in the steelworks I said "now, look carefully at this man, he's about 2ft tall but he's the sexiest thing on the planet in this film" and after she looked at me in horror after about 5 minutes she concurred I was, as ever, right. Grin

See, I only fancy Hugh Grant in Love Actually.

I'm wondering if there's an unexpected dance connection to my crushes.
Could well be - I have a bit of a thing about men dressed as women ( I’m another fan of Tom Holland doing his Lip Synch Battle 🥰)

Fyredraca · 23/06/2021 11:36

@DancesWithTortoises I prefer George Warleggan in Poldark. Love the baddy

SonoPortafortuna · 23/06/2021 12:24

@OliveHenry yes! definitely but only Blackadder II it’s the beard I think.

Yes to Loki only, and for me it’s OB in Pirates only. And same for Jonny Depp.

Harrison Ford - Indy but Han Solo, omg. Otherwise nah.

Chris Evans in Gifted, cap left me pretty cold.

Sebastian Stan could read the phone book to me and I’d have to be tied down to prevent me from ripping his clothes off before he got past the first line (I’ve not fantasised about that AT ALL clearly) but surprisingly the pics of him as Tommy Lee just leave me totally meh. Tommy Lee himself in the original photos though…. 🔥

Ioan Gruffud in Harrow. Nothing else but omg dripping sex appeal there.

John Barrowman as Captain Jack in Torchwood series 1 and 2 only. Not at all in anything else and deffo not Dr Who.

James Marsters as Spike. Yes.

NarcissaMalfoysManicure · 23/06/2021 12:25

Gosh, another one - Mark Rylance as Thomas Cromwell! Blush

Perhaps it's the hat.

lazylinguist · 23/06/2021 12:30

YANBU to only fancy actors in certain roles, but YABU about Hiddleston. He's definitely more attractive in The Night Manager than as Loki! I actually like him as himself in interviews too, even though some might find him a bit... over-enthusiastic Grin. Orlando Bloom far better in Pirates than LotR too. And yy that Viggo is only attractive as scruffy, travel-worn Aragorn!

Jins · 23/06/2021 12:33

Yes to JRM as Henry but Henry Cavill as Charles Brandon is even more noteworthy

StormTreader · 23/06/2021 12:33

Agreeing with everyone here, but can let you in on what I realised a few years ago in that these characters are all so attractive because they are aloof, charismatic, and totally emotionally unavailable - we are all doomed! :D

SonoPortafortuna · 23/06/2021 12:36

@NeedNewKnees

Oh yes.

And on a similar note TJ Thyne in Bones as Hodgins.

Dunlin · 23/06/2021 12:37

Orlando as Legolas in LOTR is beyond lovely to look at. Hobbit Legolas is a diminished beauty. He’s done that maturing man thing and got more solid and bulked out.
I don’t want my fantasy elf to have bulked out. Another reason why those films sucked.

I can't get past his inability to act, even in LOTR.

Viggo, on the other hand...

DaphneDeloresMoorhead · 23/06/2021 12:50

Colin Farrell in SWAT only
Totally agree with Hugh grant in Bridget 1 (not the second). He's wasted in his usual roles, he's much sexier being a complete cad

UthredofBattenberg · 23/06/2021 13:09

@waltzingparrot

JRM as Henry VIII in the Tudors - yes please. JRM in real life - pass
I first read that as Jacob Reese-Mogg ConfusedEnvyGrin
