Due to sensitive skin I cleanse my face using Simple Micellar water and Simple eye makeup remover. In the morning I apply Simple Face wash and rinse it off in the shower. This is followed by No7 toner, Nivea Q10 eye cream and Q10 moisturiser. I don't use face masks much as they tend to irritate my skin and give me spots Hmm

Makeup wise I use No7 light reflecting foundation and No7 under eye pen concealer, a slick of No7 sensitive eyes mascara, a dab of No7 loose powder and little brush of No7 bronzer - I use a cherry colour bees wax lip balm for a hint of colour.

I think the products I use are gentle and are calming to my skin but a friend said today that all the products I use are actually shit to use her own word!Shock. She recommended all these ridiculously expensive products that she knows I can't afford and tbh I don't know if they're that good anyway!

What do you use or recommend I use?

@VestaTilley

The whole skincare routine, aimed at women, seems to me yet just another con.

There was a big to do on Twitter the other night praising Caroline Hirons; I’d never even heard of her, but was fairly put off when I saw she uses Botox and fillers Hmm

I wash my face with soap in the shower as I’ve run out of a more sensitive facial wash. Then I moisturise with Nivea. I like to use Clarins but I’ve run out and can’t afford to replace it.

If it’s at all sunny I put factor 50 sun cream on my nose and cheeks.

But all this serums and toner nonsense- waste of money.

You think it's all bullshit but you use expensive Clarins and you've decided that moisturiser is good, but toner and serum in nonsense? I think the toners around in my youth were nonsense, but the ones now are mainly for exfoliation I think.

I only wash my face only using water in the shower each morning. Then a moisturiser, then a tinted moisturiser, or a bb or a cc cream. That's it.

"was fairly put off when I saw she uses Botox and fillers hmm"

Why? I wouldn't expect a well-off women in that industry not to use them.

Anne French cleansing milk twice a day (if I remember) and moisturise a few times a week. 56, barely a wrinkle in sight. Have worn make up probably less that 30 times in my whole life.

I have quite sensitive skin, pale and freckles and still have breakouts from time to time ( mid 30's) I've found less is definitely more and try not to put too many products on my face or it ends up being counterproductive

Wash my face twice a day. Once in the morning and once at night, with lukewarm water over the basin, using Cetaphil face wash. Factor 30 face cream and a bit mascara/eyeshadow. That's it

My face is prone to getting greasy throughout the day. So I just blot it gently with some tissue paper

Evening, Cetaphil face wash and every other day retinol serum over night

If I'm having a particularly bad break out I use a Salicylic Acid charcoal face mask on the area and it clears up pretty quick

Little to no wrinkles, but I don't know if a lot of that is down to having naturally oily skin

Oh and I drink a lot of water, no fizzy drinks, very little caffeine and take a multivitamin
