Absolutely sick of this frightened government. Let's get them out and go back to normal life please. Boris is a joke. One rule for him at G7 another for us plebs. He can piss off now thanks.

@Whammyyammy

After seeing the G7 leaders and royal family socialising without masks or social distancing wpund me up.
And yet your ok with people you know going to pubs and not social distancing and wearing masks, ? What's the difference ?
AngeloMysterioso · 17/06/2021 00:10

Can we stop calling him Boris while we’re at it? He’s not our friend, or our next door neighbour...

TomPinch · 17/06/2021 00:11

Sunak is not a buffoon.

Likewise various others.

What makes this so awful is that (viewed from abroad) the UK elected this person. You chose a bad comedian to govern you. Well, England did anyway. Basically you stopped taking serious things seriously because "they're all the same" and "he's just this guy y'know".

If Scotland becomes independent, this English brain fart will be talked about for centuries to come, like King Stephen, King John, King Charles I, James II etc, ie, Totally Incompetent Ruler stuff.

Correct, it should be along the lines of our current prime minister.
LINABE · 17/06/2021 00:12

@TomPinch

They wouldn't.

I'm looking on aghast from outside the UK. For the very first time in my life, the US President looks statesmanlike and the UK PM is a dick.

Starmer isn't a dick.

Boris is making all 60m of you look like dicks in front of the whole world. The UK's selling point is that it's sensible and serious, Johnson is neither.

His government have lost in the courts repeatedly. They don't care because they have no character. Most of them are only in cabinet because they're loyal to Johnson, not because they're competent.

This isn't a left wing versus right wing issue, or even a Brexit issue.

Anyone who thinks the situation is normal is delusional.

@PersonaNonGarter

People complaining about Johnson’s looks would get slaughtered if it was about a woman eg Angela Merkel.
If Merkel met world leaders without even bothering to run a brush through her hair people might have a point. It isn't his looks that people talk about it is the lack of basic presentation skills.

I agree with this, I don't know a single person that doesn't think the UK has lost it's mind having Boris as pm. It reflects very badly on the UK from an outsiders perspective.

Hawkins001 · 17/06/2021 00:22

And what prove is available that compulsively proves these points ?

Eh?
Hawkins001 · 17/06/2021 00:23

The brains and.connections and influence is vastly more important than a stylist hair style.

Hawkins001 · 17/06/2021 00:26

It was me as a response to LINABE, but for some reason would not quote it

Posters (including me) are not complaining about his looks. We are complaining about the carefully chosen image he chooses to present about himself, which makes him appear as if he treats the role of UK Prime Minister as a joke.
Tealightsandd · 17/06/2021 00:29

Sunak is not a buffoon.

No he's just inexperienced, incompetent, and completely lacking in foresight. Unable to grasp that wealth is health. He's good at false economy too.

When Boris steps down, let's hope Sunak isn't his replacement. The country most certainly isn't in safe hands with him.

Hawkins001 · 17/06/2021 02:01

Sometimes Machiavelli, wrote something similar, at times better to seem incompetent.

RickiTarr · 17/06/2021 02:03

@Workingfromhomeishell

At this stage, anyone.
Bloody hell, be careful what you wish for.

I know it’s hard to imagine now but we could end up with someone worse.

SarahBellam · 17/06/2021 02:17

He looked like the warm up act for G7. Completely outclassed and spouting his usual waffle piffle. Who would replace him though? My money would be on Gove or Raab, both of whom would definitely be Malfoy’s Slytherin sidekicks.

I cannot argue with this.

The Brits can hide under the duvet while the rest of the world carries on with life. I can't wait until furlough is over, let's see if the fighting spirit will FINALLY come back in for a normal life.

LemonRoses · 17/06/2021 08:42

Deaths aren't going up. The vaccine is doing what it's supposed to. The rest of the data is irrelevant.

For accuracy, 138 people in critical care, with C19, on Tuesday compared with 0 two days before. Not the overwhelming numbers but a definite increase.

LakieLady · 17/06/2021 08:45

I couldn't vote!

Johnson is a dreadful PM, probably the worst in my lifetime (66 years, so I've live through several), but it's not because of the extension of Covid restrictions.

I could give loads of other reasons though.

Lockheart · 17/06/2021 08:55

The man responsible for losing the taxpayer billions in lost stamp duty.

'Billions' - can you back that up? It seems quite high.

He also actually saved taxpayers money by virtue of the fact they weren't paying SDLT - I think you mean he cost the treasury money.

newnortherner111 · 17/06/2021 09:08

@LakieLady I disagree. Mr Johnson is the worst Prime Minister ever in the UK's history. Only Mr Orban in Hungary is possibly worse in any democratic country.

Please don't forget when you next vote that had Mr Johnson acted in April and placed India on the red list for travel, almost all restrictions would be ending next week.

Vintagevixen · 17/06/2021 12:29

I've wanted to get rid of him for years!

I'm not bothered at all by all the close socialising at the G7 so not for that reason. Just that he's just a complete idiot.

JewelGarden · 17/06/2021 12:32

I can't remember when we last had a PM who wasn't a complete twat.

WHERE on the government website are we being told to wear a mask outdoors?
Workingfromhomeishell · 17/06/2021 13:12

@Ijustknowitstimetogo

Because at this rate there could be large numbers of younger people going in to hospital. Not dying necessarily. But ill enough to take up beds and that threatens the nhs resilience and their chance to catch up on the already massive backlog of other stuff.
Not true. The PHE data is out. This is not happening. The vaccines work. SAGE have massively scaremongering the sheep into submission again. We need to get our lives back. If that takes a new government the that's what we need.
