My DH and I have 2 dogs and the youngest was sick the other night DH used a sponge to clean it up I have just gone into the kitchen and noticed a sponge in the washing up bowl I text my DH to ask about it hoping that it wouldn’t be the same one that he used the other night and got told that yes it is the one that he used the other night to clean up the sick and he has been using it to wash the dishes he apparently cleaned it before he used it. I have no words is anyone else’s DH that bloody lazy and disgusting or is it just mine. Envy Envy most definitely not envy.

If he's been raised in filthy surroundings it is hardly a surprise.

I couldn't live with someone so lazy and disgusting.

Too grim.

EnfieldRes · 13/06/2021 21:36

WTF OP. That is shocking

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 13/06/2021 21:37

No, he'd use newspaper and then the floor cloth.

dizzydizzydizzy · 13/06/2021 21:39

DP much the same. I once found him cleaning his boots with the washing up brush. Envy

Trinacham · 13/06/2021 21:40

@simbobs

Mine definitely wouldn't do that, partly because he would have left the sick for me to deal with, somehow managing not to notice it.
This is my husband too.
randomkey123 · 13/06/2021 21:40

Yep mine would do that.

He's fucking grim when it comes to cleaning.......and the best bit is that he pats himself on the back and says how helpful he is Hmm

Daphnise · 13/06/2021 21:43

I should imagine at least 80% of men would find this quite OK!

And the women who insist their DHs would never do it- well I'm afraid you just don't know who many vomit sponge/brushed dishes you have eaten from, and obviously survived....

notanothertakeaway · 13/06/2021 21:44

Bleurgh, that's disgusting, sorry

Fleetw00d · 13/06/2021 21:46

My partner probably wouldn't clean up the sick in the first place but if he did, he wouldn't do that!

seepingweeping · 13/06/2021 21:48

I think my husband would do that. It's fucking disgusting. I swear he does it so he doesn't need to do it again and hopes I take over.

AmIPeriOrAreYouJustAnnoying · 13/06/2021 21:48

LTB

Rosebel · 13/06/2021 21:50

Not sure my husband would be so gross but my daughter did wash the cat food dishes and then start washing our dishes with the same cloth and water!

My husband finds vomit the worst thing to ever encounter so I do know for sure. He's more likely to tell me off for disgusting things too actually (eg, I follow the 'if it's yellow let it mellow' rule with flushing, which he finds gross)

bit of an assumption to make out most men are disgusting!

LunaMuffinTop · 13/06/2021 21:52

@Aquamarine1029 haha 😂 that made me laugh so much you have no idea how much you have just hit the nail on the head yes they are vile lunatics think what looked like 20 years worth of shit all over the toilet and the poor cat having to tear a hole in the bag of cat litter and make his own toilet on the floor they tried to say that I had a messy flat we are NC with them for a whole host of reason by yes they are absolute lunatics.

@RagzReturnsRebooted I wish my DH was that neat and tidy.

@hazandduck it made me feel the same way wouldn’t mind but he’s a chef as well and does things like that.

@simbobs oh yeah my DH sometimes does that as well and causally tells me about it as he’s walking out the door to work 🙄

@GreyhoundG1rl other people’s husbands are probably a million times cleaner than mine.

@ErykahBaddy your lucky I wish mine would be a bit neater.

@PaleGreenAndBrightOrange oh god that’s just as nasty as what my DH did where do they come up with this stuff.

@ZacsAndMe oh god I know the smell you mean it’s bloody horrible and is a nightmare to get out of carpet that has to be the worst thing for a child to vomit up. Can’t believe he thought wipes was going to be enough smh. What is it with men and being disgusting.

TBH I wouldn't put this past my DH.

DrManhattan · 13/06/2021 21:54

Don't believe this is real. Who is really that gross and stupid

partyatthepalace · 13/06/2021 21:56

Jesus.

On what planet did he think that was OK?

EKGEMS · 13/06/2021 21:56

I'd have sent the disgusting bastard to the store for new sponges, spray cleaner, plates and bleach and made him do a top to bottom clean of the kitchen! Believe me, microbiology and epidemiology courses changes your perspective on life!

ClairKingston · 13/06/2021 21:56

This reminds me of the hilarious scene in the Royle family when Shiela scraped the dog muck from the bottom of a trainer with a knife, into the sink which had dishes in it! Awful but hilarious at the same time.
Some folk can show some grim habits that's for sure! I do recall watching a family member drying dishes and then sneezing into the tea towel, then continued drying the dishes with the same cloth. I am quite strict with hygiene in the kitchen and abhor double dipping but it never fails to surprise me how many people think it is ok to do it.
I do have faults though. Just not ones I would admit to on here right now. Hmm

Christ alive, op. What's entertaining about that? Hmm

toolazytothinkofausername · 13/06/2021 21:58

This thread has made me so happy! I thought my DH was revolting, but knowing my DH would never do that makes me feel so much better Grin

MarieKlepto · 13/06/2021 21:59

By MN hygiene standards, me and my husband are Neanderthals. We also live with barfy animals but no, no, no, this would never happen.

SisterMonicaJoansHabit · 13/06/2021 22:00

My OH obviously came from the same Acme Man Factory as yours.

Used the good scissors to chip away at the limescale at the bottom of the toilet bowl, said they'd be fine after a wash in the dishwasher Envy not envy

grapewine · 13/06/2021 22:02

How could he think this was OK? Gross.

ButItRingsAndIRise · 13/06/2021 22:04

@Namechangeme1

OP you're post has made me laugh sorry mainly because it's the exact reaction my DH got when he cleaned cat sick up and then used the same cloth to wash up telling me don't I know how germs work and he bleached it!!!
